FREE BERLIN TOURS - Guided bike tours for groups ____________________________________________________________________ There is no better way to explore a city than by bike and Free Berlin Tours is definitely the right choice for you. In the fresh air we guide you from sight to sight and explain to you Berlin's history and mystery. At each place of interest a stop will be made and because all our guides are so well trained, we have the flexibility to make spontaneous changes throughout the tour to suit your individual needs. Berlin is a really bike friendly city with lots of cycle paths and we have perfected our routes now over many years to great success. Your safety is always our first priority therefore we've selected side streets rather than busy main roads without compromising the experience. Even older and inexperienced cyclists can participate without any problems. The following tours are on offer: 1. "Poor but sexy" - Berlin's wild side 2. Berlin's Best - The perfect mix 3. Berlin Wall/Third Reich - History up close 4. Top Secret - Hidden places

To be honest, we only signed up for the tour because it was free and it was our first time in Berlin, but WOW! We were so impressed with the quality of the tour, the intrigue of material, and the cohesiveness in which it was delivered, by the one and only, Sam Noble. Also a Ph.D history student, Sam was... Great tour through artistic Berlin when you have already seen all the tourist hotspots. Tour guide Alex (Australia) was awesome.

I have been on this tour a couple of times. Each time I come to Berlin with friends/family I will take them on this tour because normally it's a great introduction to the city, its history and the sights. Today however, I was disappointed with the quality of the tour. My tour guide (Mark Curtis) did not provide me with... More

Brilliant tour guide from England, who's a history teacher, and told us so much about Berlin history and culture. This walking tour is a must.

We took a short 2 1/2 hour and a longer 6 hour free walking tour that we booked through Get Your Guide. Both tours were excellent with very knowledgeable, friendly guides, and we enjoyed them very much. I would highly recommend these tours to anyone wanting to know more about Berlin's history; even if you paid for these tours, they... More

Enjoyed the free walking tour with our guide Mark Connely AKA Marquito. He had a lovely Irish accent. He provided good information with interesting quips and humour. We covered quite a bit of ground in the two hours. Although it is free you can give the guide a tip of an amount of your choice.

It's a very good walking tour. The guide was charismatic and very helpful. Made a few friends on the tour and it always has people. Plus it's completely free. If you're in Berlin and want a historical explanation, there's no reason to not take this.

If your visiting Berlin I strongly recommend going on a free walking tour! The guide was so informative and we learnt more in the 2 and a half hours than we would have learning about the places on our own. We enjoyed the trip that much that we booked to go on another one the next day with the same... More

Espin picked me up from the heart of gold hostel but we cannot make a tour because of there were too few tourist so we had to wait for the afternoon session of the tour. He however showed me round the synagogue, the ruined museum, the post office, the parliament building and other attractions just to while away the time.... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
