With the bicycle through Berlin...To really have an inside view of Berlin, you have to experience Berlin. With a bus, train or your own car it will not work. A bike tour with one of our guides is the perfect approach to showcase our very green, big area and cycle friendly city of Berlin. You won’t have to wait at bus or tram stops, or waste your time looking for over-priced parking spaces. Travelling by bike you’ll always arrive right in the middle of the action. Just be here......Only BERLIN BIKE TOUR guarantees groups of max. 8 people. Mass tourism is a foreign word to us. Berlin Bike Tour provided a terrific overview of "typical" Berlin and some off-the-path sites as well. The equipment was in good shape and the tour-guide was knowledgeable, interesting and kept the group together. Bicycle is a great way to see the sights. You can cover more ground than on foot, but the pace is slow enough to look around. I've... More

We had a great tour. Both my father ( a first time visitor to Berlin) and myself (a Berlin veteran) enjoyed ourselves immensely with the very skilled and knowledgeable guides. They managed to show both of us a host of interesting places, with good stories about the main attractions as about more unknown sites. A nice way to get (re)acquainted... More

The morning after our arrival in berlin having travelled for 40 hours from home, we went on the English bike tour with Axel and another couple from Wales. It was meant to last about 4 hours but ended up being 5. It could have partly been due to my slow pace but was really because of Axel's depth of knowledge... More

Went on Berlin Wall tour with Katrin . Impressed as we were only two English people on tour and we spent 4.5 hours ( tour overran ) exploring the intimacies of the history and drama of the Berlin Wall. Katrin was a former East German resident and this added an extra dimension to the experience. The tour takes you through... More

Our tour was run by Katrin, who was an excellent passionate advocate for Berlin. Very good tour lasting over 4 hours. We saw a lot on the Berlin Mitte tour and also got a lot of advice on what else to see. Bikes were OK (the seats could be more comfortable) and Katrin had lots of in depth knowledge on... More

Went with 2 mates on a grey Berlin morning. The tour took 4 hours and Markus was an excellent guide, we covered alot of ground and really got a feel for Berlin's recent past, and the absurdity and tragedy of it. Thoroughly enjoyed it and you get some fresh and Markus gave some great tips for us to go out... More

The bike tour is easily the best way to see around Berlin - many of the attractions are spaced out at quite a distance. Very interesting and informative tour and we got to see all of the main sites. The only negatives were that at times our guide struggled with English - quite frequently had to take some time to... More

Thanks to Markus for a really good Berlin Mitte cycle tour - keeping us all interested on the coldest of Berlin days! Quote from the teenager (and possibly hardest to please) "I learnt a lot and it was really fun" - high praise indeed!

We booked a private tour a couple weeks ago with Berlin Bike Tour. Markus, our guide, was absolutely outstanding! Not only has he an amazing knowledge, but he also knows how to share it with tourists like us. He can create the sort of the atmosphere where you want to ask one question after the other without feeling yourself stupid.... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
