Wonderful place

A really gem, not only for sworn car enthusiasts but for the whole family as well. A small model shop included. It is free, a bit away from main tourist routes.

Hidden away in an old tram depot on the outskirts of Berlin, is this center for vintage car heaven.Fond of old cars, when i visited this museum past a nondescript warehouse like building, i was greeted by some lovely pristine classic cars & motorcycles. There was an Austin, a Ducati & Jaguar E sparkling in the corner, among others. There are garages with... Berlin has so much to offer relative to contemporay history that this visit was a great disappointment. Notwithstanding, anyone interested in this particular aspect of modern leisure and pleasure may well find it worthwhile. No doubt, in years to come its significance will become more appreciated by visitors younger than me.

For the enthusiast or those with a casual interest in classic cars this is the place for you. Based in an old tram warehouse it is not so much a museum as a cluster of classic car sales outlets located inside one gigantic building with a number of ancillary activities such as boat brokerage, model cars as well as service... This facility located in former railway workshop is home to an interesting collection of privately owned classic cars, some are for sale. Some specialist workshops are present as well.

It was astonishing to see so many cars under one roof. Even when the girls in our family had had enough (and the boys wanted to stay) there was a nice café to keep us occupied and happy.

Unplanned visit which made it all the more rewarding as there were some great automobiles on show from the old to the new. The Italian restaurant here was also excellent.

Although none of us is really i interested in cars in general we decided to go here because of the good reviews and I will happely recommend it to anyone who has a few hours to spare in Berlin. The place is not too difficult to find but its not in walking distance from central Berlin. We took the U-bahn... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
