We arrived Warnemunde with the cruise ship. The tour driver waited for us at the pier and 12 of us get on a 15 seats Mercedes mini bus. After 3 hours we arrived Berlin and the tour guide joined us there. Our guide came from United State therefore spoke with clear english and he know quite a lot history about... More

There were many bus that offers tour in the city. Some are overpriced but we got a good deal. 25€ for 3 heads. :-) The bus tour duration is 1 1/2 hour and it was nice. We saw lots of historical places, arts and architectural designs. It is a beautiful place to see!

August 22, 2015 and it is our first day in Berlin. Still fresh and green behind the ears regarding Berlin we chose the “Famous Walk” insider tour to meet the City. The meeting point for the start of the tour was at station Zoologischer Garten, opposite Mac Donalds. The start time was 1.30 PM sharp and a word of advice,... More

Yesterday we took a one day private tour of Berlin. It was incredible. A month before our trip I searched the Internet in hopes of finding a private tour with a guide who specialized in German history from 1915 to 1950. Joanne at Berlin City Tours set us up with Matt. We hit the jackpot! Since we arrived by ship... More

This inexpensive guided tour has a lot of value for money for the first timers in Berlin. Even though I do not have very good knowledge of the history of Berlin nor the history of the world war in general, I enjoyed all the stories Barnaby shared in each spot we stopped. He is very kind, funny, very knowledgeable and... More

Very simply one of the best walking tours I have been on. Our guide for the day Alexander was informative and entertaining. You certainly felt he enjoyed his subject and talking to the group. It was not a one way conversation and he encouraged the group participation. Great sense of humour and an easy manner. All the major sites are... More

Lorna (guide) and Kay (driver) did an AMAZING job of showing us the historical sights of and around Berlin. We spent nine hours with them and never had a dull moment. Lorna's knowledge of European history was so impressive! It was also insightful to hear her perspective on some of the historical events. Choose your walking shoes carefully as we... More

We booked a private tour to Berlin for our cruise stop at Warnemunde. Our driver Thomas was excellent and our tour guide Ulli in Berlin was informative and fun. We got to customize our tour to satisfy my car enthusiast son by visiting the Trabant museum and Classic Remise Berlin. We got back to the ship early so Thomas took... More

This tour travels the entire city in about an hour. Of course you are going get off and see the sites and this bus makes it easy to do so. Start early in the day so you have ample time to see all of the sites that you want and don't get caught rushing. I think that there is a... More

There were 8 in our party and we booked a 4 hour walking tour of Berlin - with the sites of the Berlin Cathedral, Brandenburg Gate, The Berlin Walk, Checkpoint Charlie, the site of Hitler's bunker. etc. We had plenty of time to see this area and Barnaby our tour guide was VERY knowledgeable about the History and made it... Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
