What a great way to see the city! We got on an American speaking live tour bus that went thru both West and East Berlin . Saw the Berlin Wall, check point Charlie and so on. We could get on and off all day any where we wanted and get back on. I suggest taking the 2 hour tour to... More

I normally go on an one hour and 30 minutes boat tour so I thought going on a three hour one would be a bargain - big mistake...it was too long. Not that Berlin is not beautiful especially when the sun is setting but there is only so many bridges you want to see The tour guide didn't speak English... More

Took a tour of Berlin Highlights and a tour of the concentration camp at Oranianburg. 2 outstanding tours thru Viator.com (english speaking) both are walking tours after taking a short train ride. Got lucky with 2 knowledgeable guides. Berlin Highlights - Jamie Concentration camp - Cesar 5 stars to both of them, especially Cesar who stayed with the group after... More

This is a superb tour company to do a city tour with. We did a one day tour from our cruise ship- 12 hours in total from ship back to ship- and it was just great. Wet and cold weather but the guide took us to all the places I had wanted to see. He is an American living in... More

Went on this tour with two friends during the week and was quite disappointed. We were provided with headphones and an audio guide, however many of the attractions that were spoken about on the audio guide were not visible at that point. The tour was too long (over 2 hours sitting on a bus, but I will admit that we... More

We cooperated with Berlin City Tours in organising tours in Berlin for a group of 16 (special thanks to Joanna!). Everything run smoothly. The feedback we received from the group was amazing, just to quote one of the kids: I found the Berlin trip thoroughly enjoyable, it added to my historical knowledge, but also I enjoyed exploring the city of... Unfortunately, the guide never showed up. We had a firm reservation, I gave them my credit card number to charge and they simply lost it all. Make sure you get a confirmation. By the time I realized I did not have one and asked for it, Mariel denied having the order (I have emails) and just ignored our text message... More

This is an incredible tour of the original Nazi concentration camp opened in 1933. Cesar, our tour guide was organized, well informed, and very professional. He saw to it that all participants of the tour were receiving answers to all of their questions, managed our time there quite well, and was cordial and friendly. He made sure that we all... More

We booked the Yellow line tour on our first full day in Berlin, and we found it most informative, giving us a great sense of the geography of the city, and enabling us to select those places of special interest to us, to return to spend more time at. The multi lingual commentary is excellent. Buses are plentiful, so if... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
