Don't go to Berlin and not go here, this is a Berlin Museum all should visit. I found this museum while on the hop on hop off bus tour.

Gave a real feel for the human impact of the GDR and the Wall - the original immigration booth (no handles on the inside of the doors and mirror above you) was particularly troubling. Well worth an hour of your time and there are multi-national audio guides
All i can say is WoW! this museum is wonderful.. Get the audio guide (also free) and it will take you back in time. You will know how the individuals on the East side felt. A great learning experience.
This is an extremely well done museum. I recommend getting the Audio Guide which is free, just like the Museum itself. All one has to do is leave an ID as a deposit. They do a fantastic job of making the stories come to life and I found it really emotional. It is very well planned with great video clips...

This museum is free. So get there. This museum has so much information with pictures, videos and audio that it would be a disaster to miss. So much information regarding the time with the WALL. I cannot say enough. Just go. Its may also break your heart.
Very nice museum, in there you'll know what people had to pass through when travelling to the DDR. the museum was free and the audioguide was also free.
Have toured this place twice now, first time with an English speaking tour guide... Worth a visit, lots of information and history to explore..
Located on Friedrichstrasse, the building served as border crossing between the east and west Berlin. Interesting info about construction of the border, crossing and finaly tearing it down. The admission is free Be sure to check correct location, the tripadvisor's location was at the time of this review completely wrong.
If you be inside, and know a bit of the history of the DDR so you can feel how the people must had feel there while standing in front of the Officier and waiting , it was a very interessting visit in Berlin.
