Great Garden

I always go to the gardens in every city, this one stood up well. There was privacy and still a good place to watch people

I recommend renting a bike and go all around this place. It's a gem! Had been to Berlin many times before but had never visited and I'm glad I finally did.

An extremely green stretch of Berlin where Berliners frolic at their leisure. The garden is perfect for walking, running, bicycling,, or just people viewing.

It was a bit dusty and could use a little attention. We biked through and around it, and there are a few unexpected surprises. We had breakfast there everyday by a pond which was pleasant.

Good for a stroll or a picnic to get away from the city buzz for a while. Good for cycling also, and has a few playground areas for kids.

The Tierarten is one of Berlins historic sites, yes this is true. there are many plaques around on which you can read about its meaning to the former nobless , the berliners of then and today. separated in some quarters the tiergarten is quite big to walk through on one day, rather use it for a small relaxation. or go... We enjoyed cycling through the park on a very hot summer day. Lots of Berliners enjoying the park and the shade was a welcome place to hide from the heat of the day. This is a wonderful large park and a great asset for the city.

Big park, plenty of space, but largely unimpressive! You can get lost quite easily because it all looks the same once you are off the main boulevard. Still, you can always find a quiet spot as places are designated for different activities. And don;t be alarmed by naked sunbathing Germans - it's just part of their day to day activity!

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
