We were lucky enough to walk through the Tiergarten on a lovely sunny day, what a beautiful park with lawns and woodland, we saw lovely birds and felt like we were in the country. It's a huge park and you could get lost but there a plenty of maps, take a picnic and relax after a busy morning of sightseeing.

Beautiful public garden with so many nooks to sit in the sun and enjoy Berlin. The south side is quiet with beautiful ponds and canals to sit by.

Being from Las Vegas the greenery was overwhelming. I left my hotel on a morning run intended for 4 miles and ended up doing 7 as didn't want to miss anything in this magical garden. What a great place to run for an hour - whilst surrounded by trees, but with the occasional view of The Brandenburg Gate, or the Riechstag. Runnig routes are shown on maps at the entrances and marked on the paths.

Whilst staying at the Adlon I used the opportunity to get up early each morning and walked through the Brandenburger Tor (with no crowds at 8am!) into Tiergarten. Lovely large park - peaceful timeout from the city buzz.... Plenty of maps around the park so you shouldn't get lost! Keep an eye out for cyclists who seem to come out of nowhere - you can walk alone smaller paths for more of a peaceful walk. The park crosses over the river and has a few small ponds -... More

We rode through this park on our Fat Tire Bike Tour. It is a very long park and the day we were there, several events were going on so it was extremely crowded. The biergarten at the end was welcome but the food prices were pretty high.

What astonished me when visiting Berlin was the amount of parks and squares! Tiergarten is gigantic and was the former hunting park for the Hohenzollern Prince Family. You won't see animals anymore ;-), but aeras to lay back, have a BBQ, a drink, etc. Very appreciable!
