the Tiergarten is beautiful and a fabulous place to stroll in total greenery and away from any noise or traffic. And the cafe near the lake is an ideal place to stop for drinks, snack or lunch. It's impossible to imagine that immediately after WWII there was not a tree in the park; all had been cut down for fuel.... More

Definetly worth of visiting, and perfect for example brunch. In hot sunny day, walk in the park cools you down :)

Coming from the south, you can do biking all around this beautiful park and end up right in front of "Brandenburg Tor". During summer, this place is amazing.

The City of Berlin is considered as a Green City...there are lots of trees alöong the streets, they have lots of park everywhere, and the most amazing is the huge park, a forest-like park in the middle of the city.

We spent a few hours just biking in the park and enjoying the canals, lakes, flowers and relative serenity.

The Tiergarten is the largest park in central Berlin. Think of it as Central Park in Manhattan New York. It is a great place to exercises, walk, and refresh yourself. It is close to and or surrounds the Parliament building, the Prime Minister's house, the Victory Column, the Berlin zoo . . . It will be hard to not see... More

It's not at all surprising that this park was in the British controlled part of West Berlin after the war - it feels very much like the parks of London, with a great layout, many criss-crossing concrete and dirt pathways, and great water features. Wonderful for a run, bike ride, or just a stroll.

On my third trip to Berlin, I finally got to see the Tiergarten. We stayed in the Hotel Am Steinplatz, a few blocks from the park and I enjoyed a morning run from one end to the other. With all that Berlin offers, a park seems like a simple thing. Take the time for a walk in the gardens and... More

It's wonderful to sit in the park with red squirrels running around, people on 7 seater bikes, families, joggers and Berliners catching the sunshine on their way home. All this was going on but yet it's still so tranquil. We enjoyed a bottle of bubbly sitting on the grass in the sunshine, something we would not be able to do... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
