This place is called tiergarten, or animal garden, because back in the day this was used as hunting grounds for certain electors. Therefore, there's a lot of space. Now it's a nice park with a lot of greenery. I went on a stroll through the park and stopped at a beer garden within. Great way to end a long walk!

Beautiful park for running and walking in the very center of the city, close to the historical monuments. Mandatory visit in Berlin.

We walked through the Tiergarten during the World Cup. There was a ginormous screen set up for the next game and lots of friendly polizei who were more than willing to share their views, especially about the potential penalty for Suarez-the-biter. We strolled past kiosks and carnival games to the Victory Column, another photo op in a city overflowing with... More

If you explore the city you can't miss it. I didn't explore this park a lot but it's pretty plain and quite big. It's not that clean either.

The park is so lovely, so expansive, so green and a fabulous get-away for a few hours. One can walk and walk along the myriad of paths, through gardens and thick trees, a forest of Rhododendrons, lakes and waterways. Ducks and birds and squirrels abound, drowning out all sounds of big city life. There are many statues, picnickers, cyclists, joggers,... More

Massive park/woodland area very nice place to go for a walk and drinking/eating by the lake and leads onto the Landwehr canal. Just be careful when taking pictures as you will find that there are areas where people are sun bathing nude. This is a very relaxing and peaceful place for a bike ride, a walk, read a book etc.... We were there in hot weather and enjoyed the shade. It is very wooded and more like walking in a forest - not open grass like UK parks. There are restaurants at the lake where you can hire a row boat - great fun!

Lovely extensive gardens, but if you want to have a relaxing, peaceful walk, forget it! Difficult because of badly behaved cyclists who basically take over and can come at you from all directions. They are supposed to yield to pedestrians, but they do not.

This huge, beautiful park provided a perfect escape from the chaos and noise of the city. I made several visits on my stay, and each time I was immediately transported to a peaceful, green oasis. I took in this park both on foot and on a bike, and both modes of travel were equally pleasant. Do yourself a favor while... More

weather was amazing for our stay and this reflected on the beautiful gardens. Many walkways to take and was very peaceful considering it's the capital.
