We are so glad we made time for the Palace of Tears. We took just over an hour to explore this small but impressive exhibit. The footage the juxtaposed the propaganda news from both sides was very interesting. The personal stories, documents, photos and genuine pieces of history were impressive. If you have time, visit. It is free!

Walked through this park when I was a Sandeman's tour. It's a lovely park and the view of the Brandenburg Gate is nice. Do not miss the Memorial to Homosexuals Persecuted Under Nazism! It is a low-profile concrete cuboid.

I like this huge garden in the middle of the city. This is specially good to take a bicycle ride and to get lost inside. It's not like Central Park, is more wild. It's more like a forest sometimes actually.

Great park to visit if you need to get away from the city, & see some open space & greenery. Take a map so you can find your way around.

the walks were great, squirrels, rabbits birds, boating an oasis of nature in the midst of the city…..walking through here to the main shopping area of berlin, we enjoyed lunch in the beer garden, and many pleasant strolls around the zoo, which we didn't go in because we don't really like animals in captivity although we could hear them frequently

In the centre of the city, a lovely wooded park. Red squirrels, statues, all you would expect as a green oasis in the middle of a capital city. A lovely relaxing place.

A classic big city park with many paths - great for a run or walk on a nice day! Perfect way to start or end a day.

After spending a couple of days in the city your kids will surely need to unwind. The park is beautiful, and basically a huge play area for adults and kids alike. Playgrounds can be found inside, you can play soccer on the grass or just take a run. Wish there was a place to buy some drinks. I couldn't find... More

Enormous and beautifully kept garden with memorials distributed about. Lots of bikers and joggers and spring flowers growing, lovely surroundings.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
