I was on the same tour as thomasofaus and completely endorse his review. I was visiting Berlin for the first time with my wife and 4 children. We wanted to fit in as much as possible, including a visit to Sachsenhausen. Our guide from a different company didn't show up so we ended up tagging onto Dennis's party. He speaks... More

My wife and I turned up at the meeting point for the Sachsenhausen concentration camp tour and ended up as the only 2 on the English tour. There were heaps of people for the Spanish one. We were greeted by Dennis who is a true Berliner. He was really professional and spoke fluent English, and also really passionate about history... More

We did the Sachsenhausen tour with Dennis, and we must say it was excellent. The content was depressing, as expected, but Dennis took us on a journey from the beginnings of WWI on the train heading to Sachsenhausen, framing the expansion of the brutal Nazi regime and narrated in great detail life in the camp, following the lives of two... My wife and I did visited Sachsenhausen concentration camp with Dennis. Dennis speaks fluent English, and I really liked the way he explained history of Germany in early 20th century, and events leading up to rise of Hitler, and then when and why the Sachsenhausen concentration camp was constructed. We liked Dennis's approach so much that we joined him again... More

First a little bit of background: I'm German and I'm from Berlin. The choice to visit the KZ Sachsenhausen was a spontaneous one. I stumbled into the group of Vive Berlin right at the entrance of the KZ-memorial. Although I'm a native German speaker, I asked if I could join the English guided tour since there wasn't any tour in... More

We spent a brilliant day on a tour of this place with the most informative guide - Dennis from Vive tours. Only 4 in the group so got a really personal experience. Dennis really is passionate about history, and told the story of this awful place from the perspective of 2 prisoners who had been held there. The place itself... More

Fabulous tour company, the guides are extremely informative and keep you interested from start to finish. We went on the Sachsenhausen tour 1st with our tour guide Mariska, who was very well informed and gave us an absorbing day out. Then the next day we went on the Cold War and the day after the Third Reich with a superb... More

We went on a Vive Berlin tour with Dennis, an English speaking guide from Berlin and we went to Sauchenhausen concentration camp. Although the nature of this is horrific you really should make the effort to visit this camp. This trip was worth it with Dennis as he made the tour more worthwhile. It takes about 1.5 hours to get... More

We had limited time and wanted to cover a lot of Berlin. We had a great day and enjoyed every minute! We saw a lot and learned a lot that we would have missed otherwise. We highly recommend VIVE BERLIN. Thanks to the great reviews on TA, we were directed to VIVE BERLIN. We booked at the last minute. Our... More
