Great place, it's still in a condition that it makes you feel history coming back. Recommendable, and you only need a few minutes.

Part of history. There are boards all around with information about the checkpoint and it also contains alot of information about the war, incidents after the war, and the relations between the east and west - why the berlin wall was constructed and so on

Checkpoint Charlie has a great history. Recent building activities (set off with fences which provided a lot of historic stories and photos) actually delivered the second start to this review. I am not sure if that is there to stay, though.
The site itself is a shame. A wooden shack with sandbags and some dressed up muppets which charge a...

Checkpoint Charlie is there but, has become a little hokey with people dressed as soldiers charging to have your photo taken with them and another place offering to stamp your passport (legal?) for a fee. The whole area is worth walking through so it is not a total loss.

-the military-garbed actors that charge money to get a picture with are strippers by night (seriously)
History buffs should find this poorly executed attraction a mockery.
However,...

Checkpoint Charlie (or "Checkpoint C") was the name given by the Western Allies to the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Okay, so my expectations may have been too high for this guard hut, given its historical significance. But it’s a guard hut. The surrounding area is changing rapidly, and is now full of souvenir stores (plus a McDonald’s—seriously). Worth a couple of minutes, and for the time being there is good information on panels that fence in nearby construction sites.

What was once one of the most famous crossings in the world is now purely a money making racket. There is really not much to see but you can have your photo taken for a fee with a couple of US soldiers. Nothing like what it used to be. Could have been much more informative of the history of the...
