Checkpoint Charlie is there but, has become a little hokey with people dressed as soldiers charging to have your photo taken with them and another place offering to stamp your passport (legal?) for a fee. The whole area is worth walking through so it is not a total loss. More

Okay, so my expectations may have been too high for this guard hut, given its historical significance. But it’s a guard hut. The surrounding area is changing rapidly, and is now full of souvenir stores (plus a McDonald’s—seriously). Worth a couple of minutes, and for the time being there is good information on panels that fence in nearby construction sites. More
