I've never seen anything like it! Absolutely magnificent! I came to explore the Residenz at noon and was told there would be an English-speaking tour at 3pm. So I went to to grab some lunch instead and then waited around for a little while. It was definitely worth the wait! The very knowledgeable guide led us from room to room,... More

Definetly worth the time. There were no English speaking tours when we were there (maybe we missed the time?) But we met a lady from Wurzburg with her family from out of town who spoke English and let us tag along. The chapel on the end is still being renovated when we were there. More

If you get the chance, take the time to see this, it is well worth it! The Residenz is beautiful and massive. The craftsmanship is remarkable. Very glad we took the time to stop in Wurzburg. There's not much else to do in the city itself, but the Residenz definitely makes up for that. Keep in mind that they do... More

Sorry about the title. Cheap shot, I know. An absolute must do it an extremely charming city. Wuerzburg is onel of the most charming cities for its size in Germany. I am amazed that more tourists don't visit and instead go to cities like Heidelberg. The Residenz is spectaular and its gardens are impressive. When I lived in Wuerzburg in... More

We spent a morning at the residence. The guides spoke English and provided a wonderful tour. Remarkable place, especially when you consider the damage it sustained during the war. More

If you do not enjoy baroque architecture and gardens, this is not for you. If you do enjoy it, don't miss it. It is an especially nice venue for classical concerts. More

Tours in English every day, this is well worth the time and money to explore. Beautiful garden out back and gorgeous frescoes on the ceilings inside. A large portion of the interior has been restored due to the war but was restored based on photographs and using the original furniture. More

Be sure to try to get an English guide. We happened by accident to get a guide. It really helped, as there is little written in English in the rooms. More

I went there to see the ceiling fresco from Tiepolo. I was astonished to see a more than 600 m² fresco in absolutly perfect condition. Every single detail was visible. The admission fee of 7.50 € is convenient because the fee includes a guided tour of round about one hour. The guide was very competent and we get some information... More
