DO NOT MISS!!! Not only is Rothenburg a fantastic "carry you back" to the Middle Ages experience for the whole family...to top off your day of walking (on top of) the City Wall, market, and back alleys of this marvelous town, the Night Watchman's Tour is the icing on the cake. History, storytelling, drama, perspective...it is all there!!! The Night... More

The gentleman who does this in costume is informative and very entertaining. The history of the old city comes alive as he takes you with him on rounds of the city. Since it is nighttime it only adds to the effectiveness. Tours are done in English at a posted time. There is no real established fee for this.....people just pay... More

This is a "do not miss" attraction while staying in Rothenburg! Our guide was so entertaining and gave so much history and interesting tales I hated for it to end. Wear comfortable shoes for walking the cobblestone streets. A small pen light was helpful along with a light jacket in Sept.. This is great for families with children and adults... More

We read the reviews and knew we were going to do this but it was so much better than I could have imagined. The Night Watchman tells the history of the village while walking with his long black cloak, and a glowing lantern. We learned so much about the history of this village through his great humor. It reminded me... More

It was a great tour and very informative and fun. Don't even bother going to Rothenburg if you aren't going to do this tour. It was a great time. He showed up right on time and took some pictures and then lead us around the town. It was a pretty big group but he did a great job with the... More

This is a wonderful tour and lasts for about one hour!!!! We highly recommend it!! No reservations are required. Meeting point is at the market square in front of the town hall. The fee is a "donation" fee of 7 Euro for adults and 4 Euro for children. It is so worth the 7 Euro....you will "donate" more as the... More

The tour was interesting and funny and well worth the 7 euro. I didn't expect to find him there because my tour book said only until Christmas but he was still there "between the years" when everything else seemed to be closed.

This tour is a must. The Night Watchman is full of insights into the olden days and has a wicked sense of humour. A great, fun way to learn about the town

We had read that this tour was from March to December and only by chance did we walk by the main square and see the tour about to start. wow, glad we did . . . Funny and interesting, he managed to amuse the little ones and adults at the same time. Make sure to take this in (and spend... More
