I visited the Christmas Museum in May 2014 and I can say that with the minute you step in, you can honestly feel that Christmas vibe. There is lots of different and beautiful Christmas decorations small and big ones and so colorful, perfect to visit this place with kids! You can also purchase plenty of stuff which is a little... Very cool to understand where xmas traditions originated. Like cirque du sole il though. Too much channelling into merchandise. You don't always want to buy!

I avoided this place during a previous visit to Rothenburg but since it was a week before Christmas this was a stop we could not avoid. It was disappointing that photos were not allowed, but just wandering through the vast spaces will forever be etched into our memories.

A lot of old ornaments about Christmas. Good and beautiful. You takes pictures before the entrance. Inside the museum can't take photos anymore. Save it to hour memories.

We spent Christmas in Germany so that we could experience all the wonderful decorations and ornaments. We were impressed by the museum's displays and spent WAY more than we planned in the gift shop. Luckily they ship and you can get your VAT tax refunded if you ship back to the US. Worth a visit.

An interesting place to visit any time, but especially nice near Christmas. I expected from its name to be a museum about Christmas, but the focus is interestingly on how Christmas decorations developed from the early Christian era and I learnt some new things, such as that apples used to be put on trees to remember Adam & Eve and... This very thoughtfully developed presentation is primarily concerned with the evolution of Christmas trees and their decorations, a very big thing in the country that originated the Weihnachtsbaum. I discovered that some ornaments left to me by my mother are veritable museum pieces. Definitely worth a visit if this Christmas tradition gives you joy.

The christmas museum is located in the large Kathe Wolfhart shop by the square. This costs a few euro to get in to see the museum. It was quiet when we went, so we could read all the boards, but photography is not allowed. I wish it had been…or if they had sold a book about the museum so I... More

Wonderfully decorated Christmas store, with a multitude of rooms decked out with trees, lights and ornaments. Undoubtedly commercial, but visit and you won't help but feel festive - even in March!
