Wow, very very Christmassy!

This really is a sight to see. Year round Christmas shopping, and not just your boring old Santa stuff. There are full on motorized exhibits and all sorts of stuff. I didn't go... read more

After several visits and purchases. I still can't stay out of the shop. Its just a great great place for Christmas ornaments and other things that are Christmas related. Gets one into the Christmas spirit even in July... A must visit off the main Square. Oh yes, the prices are very reasonable.

I love Christmas! But 4 Euro for a dozen display cases? The history of Christmas and its decorations are informative. But I felt the point of this museum was to get me trapped in their shop! I could hardly find my way back to the street. There are thousands of Christmas items for sale. The store is very lovely and... More

It was good to learn about how the Christmas traditions developed over time, wonderful artifacts to see and dream about Christmas.

The largest Christmas shop I have ever seen. It seems to go on and on. Large displays and helpful staff everywhere. Look for the Asquith bus outside festooned with gifts on the roof rack. Entrance is free.

This really is a sight to see. Year round Christmas shopping, and not just your boring old Santa stuff. There are full on motorized exhibits and all sorts of stuff. I didn't go into the paid area, but given what was on display in the shop itself I'm sure it would have been amazing. I'm stopping short of a 5... More

The museum is above the Kathe Wohlfahrt Christmas store. For a few Euros you can see and read about lots of Christmas history. I thought is was great. It had good displays that showed a wide span of Christmas history as far as how it has been celebrated over the years. Most displays (but not all) have English interpretations. Google... More

Once inside, it doesn't matter the time of the year. It is always Christmas! Some of the goods displayed are truly unique; many are things we can find in our home countries. Well, reproductions of them anyway. The German craftsmanship is superb. Some of the carvings are so tiny, it is hard to imagine hands being steady enough to carve... More

I'd heard of this store upon arriving in Rothenburg but almost skipped it (who needs more christmas stuff?) . That would have been my loss. My husband actually enjoying browsing the many rooms ! This store has a lot more than xmas and i bought several nice gift items including classic engraved peuter shot glasses and a quality coffee mug.

Thanks to the German Christmas Museum in Rothenburg, you can enjoy Christmas all year round. This very busy museum is such a treat for the whole family to enjoy, with smiling staff everywhere to help you with your purchases. There is too much to see in one visit, so be prepared to go through it several times during your visit... More

We have visited the Rothenburg ob der Tauber Christmas market four times over the past several years. It is small, but the snow and the ambience of the old medieval town location make it something special. The huge Christmas markets of the cities are nice, but the smaller seasonal markets of the small towns really give you the feeling of... More
