Biggest disappointment was not being there to hear the massive organ. There is a small entrance fee of 2,50 Euros which is a very small price to pay to help with the upkeep of such a magnificent structure. The Blood Altar is incredible. The wood carving is detailed and it is all so well preserved. It would have been interesting... More

Not really into churches but the wood carvings inside are brilliant and the 5000 piece organ looks and if your lucky to be there at the right time sounds amazing Cost of entry was 2.50 euros each but well worth it. Be sure to pick up a pamphlet in front of the ticket counter it will give you a run... More

This was a must do in Rothenburg. Built in the 1300s and has the famous Holy blood alterpiece which claims to hold a drop of the blood of Christ. The audio guide wasn't really needed as they have a free english pamphlet. Doesn't open for tours until 10:45am on Sunday if I remember correctly (services prior). Cost 2 Euro per... More

Step back in time to 1514 with some restorations. Stay to hear 5000 pipe organ installed in 1968. Centerpiece of downtown worthy of a detour.

Amazing to think that this piece has been here long before Columbus sailed for the Americas, and that it survived WWI and WWII.

The wood carvings by local masters dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries are magnificent. The scenes from the "Coronation of Mary" are beautiful and intricate. The stained glass scenes and characters set into the windows are breathtaking. the fact that over 90% of the stained glass is original and date back over 500 years is incredible. A "must... More

Woah. The blood alter incredible. What craftsmanship and depth in one piece of wood. Worth the entrance fee to marvel at it.
