This museum was small, but had some really neat stuff in it. I really liked the shaming masks that were on display. More

Couldn't believe some of the horrible ways people have tortured each other. Very well displayed and worth seeing - keeping in mind this town is over 700 years old. More

This was a very interesting museum. If you are interested in how crimes were dealt with in "the good ol' days" then you will enjoy this museum. More

Was interesting and sometimes disturbing to see the devices that were used on people for as little as gossiping! Seems there were torture devices for everything! More

Perhaps it is human nature that we seem to be drawn to looking at instruments of torture and how (and why) they were applied. This museum goes into a lot of detail regarding crime and punishment in medieval Europe and one comes away glad in a sense that we don't live in those times. Imagine the poor baker....punished if his... More

Definitely a museum worth visiting. Gave us a fascinating insight into medieval German culture, where a single accusation could have serious consequences. Very interesting to learn how much focus was put on religion in German society in the past. More

Much more academic than say, The London Dungeon. The museum is very good about showing the history of human's inhumanity towards one another. A good blend of instruments of punishment as well as article and books accounting for treatment of prisoners over a large time period. It was more educational than entertaining and considering the subject matter that is good. More

This was an extensive museum showing the history and devices used on criminals. Probably not the best for young children as some of the pictures are graphic. More
