Nice...you won't miss it

Eye catching for its shape and color. It brings all the charm of the storybook medieval town to brick and mortar. You cant miss it in your ramblings about Rothenburg.

The Dutchy shape and hansel & gretelville nature of this piece of medieval architecture sited on an apex of cobble enclosed land is what catches your eye as you walk the wall. A most pleasant surprise.

All it needs is Gingerbread! It is filled with charm, well maintained and very colorful. It sits on an impossibly small plot nearly up against the tower wall. It was a pretty view for us, from the walkway on the tower wall but I don't suppose the people who live (or stay there) feel the same way, looking back at... More

Placed near the old walls of the city, this extraordinary old house is very little known by the locals.

This is nothing special to go out of the way to find but it is a nice building and you get a good view of it from the city walls when walking down the East side.

We happened on this by chance when walking the walls. Lovely looking building with unusual shape, it is near the tower you can climb, so woth combining the 2 things. Never went down, the best view is from the walls.

Das plonlein is the one which is featured on most postcards and not this. This is another building which is also picture - worthy :) Just visit it if you have extra time :) Otherwise it is enough to just visit the plönlein and take a picture.

Indeed this is the last surviving craftsman's house from the era, and it is worth a look as you pass by while walking the walls, BUT I can't say it is worth going out of your way to see it, particularly if you have limited time. The shop was last a bicycle repair shop, and before that a blacksmith. You... More

On the city guide it said it was worth seeing so we crossed the whole town just to see it. We really didn't get it. I mean, the house is very nice, but there are so many other nice nice building's around we didn't get why this was given this special treatment. Maybe it was our fault, we did not... More

Beautiful building and symmetry. I loved everything about it. Picture perfect. I want to live in it. A great photo can be taken from the city wall and it is worth a look. Near the Tower. I think I took 20 photos of this - it is in most post cards around the city stores. If you are into buildings... More
