My family's heritage town.

Very interesting. Make sure to visit the town. Its a World Heritage Site. Lots to see and do in this area. Take the back roads.

This was a little creepy but a fascinating insight to the concept of law and order in a different age. Many judicial systems (Civic, religious, regional) vying with each other to inflict the most cruel punishments.

This bridge for some people may just be another old bridge, maybe worth a look when visiting the fantastic old town of rothernburg. But for me a child born in the sixties it's been a life long dream to go to rothernburg and see the town that was used in 1960's when chitty chitty bang bang was filmed and this... More

As part of the original castle wall area worth the short walk to take photos and while doing so survey the walls if you have time with so much to see in this beautiful town

This is a shot walk out of town but worth the effort. Everything about this marvelous little town should be made a national treasure of Germany.

Such a fascinating bridge set in the valley outside the walled town. Takes you back in time. There are couple of different ways to get there. We chose to walk down the valley on a pretty little path that takes you right to it. We returned to the town on a different path that runs along the main road. It's... More

This bridge is a great piece of work and the history it plays in the town over the years is fun to learn. It is worth a view from the walls or if it is a great sunny day...a walk down to.

This is an unusual construction and is a typical tourist (stop here for a photo opp and move on) attraction. The immediate surroundings need a lot of TLC including the removal of junk and grafitti. I get the feeling that being outside the city, RothenburgODT is not responsible for it and whatever authority is responsible for upkeep cannot afford to do... More

We actually traveled across the bridge to get to our bed and breakfast, so this was much less out of our way than it would be for most people. This is probably a 10-15 minute walk from the center of town. The bridge is likely 150 feet (at least) below the level of the town. Therefore, the walk there won't... More
