And of course it's also a rare survival in Germany, as Regenburg was spared Allied bombing. The whole building is awesome--in the original sense of the... More

No visit is complete without this Dome Cathedral. My favourite angle is from the Stone Bridge. One can get inside for free too. It's the place I come back again and again. More

Regensburg is one of those somewhat out of the way places that typically gets overlooked by visitors from abroad. But when the city is featured as one of the top 1000 places to go before you die, you know there's something special. And what makes it special is this cathedral, which dominates the skyline as you approach the city. Gothic... More

I remember singing in this cathedral when I traveled for the first time in January 1982 as a young man of 22. I was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Choir here in Sydney from 1978 until December 2009 and sang bass. I am very interested in aspects of my religion of Catholicism, but particularly the great musical tradition that... More

If you visit Bavaria region, visiting Regensburg is a MUST! From Munich we took the train and got there in about 30 min. I was fascinated with the history, arquitecture and spirit of this little town. Made me feel in a fairy tale... One day is enough to visit the main attractions. More

Regensburg is famous for Old Stone Bridge which is Germany's oldestg vaulted stone bridge (about 1000 years old) and Cathedral St. Peter. It is one hour away from Nurenberg. If you plan to stay in Nurenberg, I recomend to visit two medieval cities: Bamberg which is also one hour away by train and Regensberg. More
