Beautiful rooms and environment. You can feel like what is to enter a palace! It has a bookshop with great souvenirs and books.

Great insight to this famous family. The 90 minute tour of house and monastery was in German (fair enough), but the English audio guide was too brief -almost minimal. They should look at providing more info as is done elsewhere on the continent. DO visit it!

If, as I did, you turn up on a wintery afternoon only to find the palace isn't open and you can't look round by yourself, don't let the flakes of snow and the bleak, grey skies depress you. Go and see St Emmeram's church (the entrance is just outside the palace gates), which is fabulous. And when you get home... More

This is a beautiful castle from the family by its name. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful of the Christmas markets in Germany. Very unique items for the holidays. If it is cold, they have little warming huts to take a quick sit down to warm up. Probably had more unique gift items and Christmas items... More

We did the tour of the palace (offered when the Christmas market is on), which is only given in German. We were given audio guides which were very informative, but the guide seemed very witty and passionate and we did feel we were missing out. However it is still a good tour and the palace is lovely and interesting with... More

The interiors of this Schloss are beautiful and the story of the Thurn & Taxis family is a fascinating backdrop to Regensburg and the role the family and the city played in the history of the Holy Roman Empire.

Our Danube Cruise ship stopped at Regensburg. In the evening we had an opportunity to travel to the palace to visit their Christmas market. This market sells items made only in the local countries so we knew we were getting true "local" items. Wish we could have had time to see the palace inside. OUtside with the lights and Christmas... This Christmas Market is a traditional, old-style market with greenery and lights everywhere. It was very crowded when we visited but I wouldn't have wanted to miss it. It is quite large and does charge for entry (I think it was 6 Euro). We sampled some amazing treats and saw some lovely hand crafted items. There are many performing groups... More

The castle is a beautiful piece of history. Some of the family still live there so they don't want pictures taken inside. Something you only read about in books. They also had a Christmas market around the outside of the castle and was included in the price of the tour. The little stands were so neat and there were open... More

You pay €7.00 and you can spend all day in the gardens of the palace - gorgeous setting, a large variety of Christmas stands and great food - most of all, super deco!! Get in there by latest 2pm (the market opens at 12) - otherwise it gets manic and horribly crowded! Well worth spending a day by adding a... More
