I visited the castle in may, the church is free of access and viewed on your own seperately , didn't see the carriage museum. The main castle can only be viewed in a guided tour which are in german. If you speak a different language then you go with the german tour and they give you an audio guide. I... More

We took the guided tour through the Palace witch takes about 1 ½ hours. It is really a great tour, the guides explain a lot of details and give a great overview of the history of the building and the family. The place has I think over 600 rooms (no worries you will see only a selected number of rooms),... More

I think its bigger than Buckingham Palace a really great place. The home of a very important family in German history.

We timed our visit to Germany and Austria to visit as many Christmas markets as possible. We went to multiple markets in Munich, Salzburg, Wolfgangsee area, and Regensburg. The "Romantic' market at the Thurn und Taxis palace was my favorite. Unlike the others we visited, there is an entrance fee (6euros), but it was worth it. Why? The booths that... More

Visited the Christmas markets in the palace. They were outstanding. The 6 Euro entrance is great value for money. Don't miss this if you get the chance.

We joined a German tour since there was no English one. The guide translated a sentence or two in some of the rooms for us, but we could not understand why we were not given English audioguides which are available in summer. Also it was annoying to have to pay to enter the Christmas Market before we could even get... More

Great resturant. They could have better directions in the old town. People have a problem getting around the city. You need to stay in the center city. Some fun places but not A lot to do

I had the Dunkel, and it was the best beer of my stay last week. Something about a 400 year old receipe! The food was good, and our party of about 20 was served very quickly and a good time was had by all. There is a couple of outdoor seating areas, so if the weather is nice, be sure... More

Yes, there is a fee, but the guided tour is so worth it! A real tour of a palace, where the family lived. Just lovely! We went on a German speaking tour, and used the supplied headphones for the tour. The guides answered our questions and were informative and helpful. The tour is an 1 1/2 long! Don't miss this...
