It is well worth walking up the rather steep walkway to this lovely middle ages castle. The view from the top is breath-taking. Some of this castle was destroyed or damaged during World War 2 (as most of the buildings of Nuremberg did). Our guide did an amazing job of explaining why the castle was built the way it was... Make sure to go to the top of the tower. 113 steps but well worth it. You will need your ticket. We went on a weekday so it was not crowded and were able to take our time.

This tour was a very quick in terms that we just got a walk thru. It did not last long so we were unable to really appreciate the castle. What we saw was impressive. The views are interesting and the one critical item was the Bathroom, there are not very many so use it! There may be other tours for... More

This is definitely the sight you must visit when in Nuremberg. Prepare to spend about 2 hrs here. The view from the Garden is great!

We enjoyed walking through this castle and reading about the history of this area. Although the town was 90% destroyed by bombing raides during WWII...is had been restored so that we could get the feel for this very old castle and the surrounding walled city. We also took a tour of the well building and our guide was very informative.

Castles tend to occupy strategic locations, which often means the high ground - so it iw with Nuremberg's Castle. A bit of a climb (and I emphasize a BIT compared to other castles I've attempted to "assault") but once up you'll know it's worth it. When you walk into the castle itself, you'll see that houses a very good (and... More

It was so imposing on the hill and the stories the walls could tell...it is a climb to the top but the views are more than worth it.

This beautiful castle with it's long history, was damaged during WWII and lovingly restored. Once up the steep hill to the castle you'll find some excellent views of Nürnberg from several different vantage points. You can enter the castle for free, but you'll need to buy a ticket to view the historic rooms. I would advise starting here before walking... More

It's hard not to find the palace- you just need to follow the streams of people walking in one direction. It is quite a steep climb, especially with a pram, but well worth it. The views are stunning and gives many photo opportunities. The gardens are free to enter.

Very large and grand. Couldn't get inside but the gardens were a great place to wander around. Great view of the old town of Nuremberg and the signs were in English too
