This museum is quite large. It is spread between two buildings. While it was a little confusing for us to figure out the layout, it was certainly worth the effort. Definitely get the audio guide, which costs 2 euros extra. It iis like a smart phone, and it uses the screen to show you additional details about what you are... More

Very well laid out museum with a wide range of interestIng exhibits to look at all well explained. The huge collection of old musical instruments is wonderful and you may be lucky enough to be able to attend a concert and hear some of them being played.

Superb, important collection of vast range. Its approach, via an avenue of columns celebrating Human Rights, is a real monument to architecture, urban space and high international principle. Stunning modern building and successfully incorporating an original religious structure with a treasure trove representative of the city's faith.

This is quite interesting museum. Artifacts and historical items are excellent. we really enjoyed the pre-1492 globe, since it gave a glimpse of what the European perception of the world was at that time. You should allow at least a few hours to tour the museum!

Great selection of artefects from all ages - especially Byzantine. Well laid out and signposted. An enormous museum. Well worth the visit.

This is vast. There is so much to see it is a bit overwhelming. I think you could easily spend half a day or more in here and still not see it al. A must see if you are in the city for a few days

Don´t take me wrong - I love this museum! You could spend a week there and still find new things to admire. The staff at the museum is very helpfull, you can have a nice meal at the museum cafe . We came to see the Cranach exhibition (fantastic) and after lunch decided to see the 20th century art exhibition... More

Very big, great paintings and lots more, too much to see in 2 hours, but good quality! Wish I had come 1 hour before to see it all!

I cannot summarize accurately what a wonderful experience I had at the GNM. First, I must say that I completely underestimated the amount of time to spend here. I thought I would give the museum 1-2 hrs. It would fully merit 3-4 hours, in my opinion. The museum does a fantastic job of leading you though the history of German... More
