This is a really pretty well to look at, although it doesn't do much. Makes nice photos and you need to turn the golden ring for luck.

We had offered to take a photo of a couple and someone who overheard us came up and offered to show and tell us the actual ring of fortune or good luck. He had visited it three times and each time his family was blessed with a child. We definitely are past having a child but the history and story... More

A beautiful fountain which is very eye catching. There is a brass ring on the railings which a lot of people were taking turns to turn around I guess its a lucky charm and perhaps brings you luck. I turned it on the first day and had a great weekend so it must work!

This is a most striking fountain. It looks like it belongs at the top of a church spire. It is absolutely stunning. Our guide told us there are many legends and stories about this fountain. One such legend involves spinning the rings on the fence that surrounds and protects the fountain. The statues are so colorful. I could have looked... More

This incredibly detailed fountain and its accompanying, protective ironwork fencing stand on the other side of the Nuremberg Hauptmarkt from the Frauenkirche. Each of the 40 statues on the fountain is a work of remarkable craftsmanship. I found the Moses statue especially interesting since it depicts Moses with horns -- similar to the way Marc Chagall depicts him in his... More

History has it that if you make a wish while spinning the ring on this ornament, your wish would come true. I made one wish here and it has come true!

This is the most beautiful and detailed fountain I have ever seen my life. The closer you look, the more detailed the carving you will realize. Obviously it is worth to spend sometime here to enjoy the view of the old city and enjoy the serenity of the surrounding. Unfortunately I am here on Sunday when majority of the shops... More

I came upon this beautiful fountain in the main market, on my way back from the Kaiserburg. Built in the 14th century, the fountain is adorned with numerous religious figures, 40 to be exact, that represented the world view of the Holy Roman Empire. The craftsmanship is amazing. I only wish I could have seen this on a sunny day.... More

Built in 1385 - 1396 by Heinrich Beheim, it's a 19 m. tall stone pyramid with a Gothic spire. 40 figures represent the world view of the Holy Roman Empire: Philosophy and 7 Liberal Arts, 4 Evangelists, 4 Church Fathers, 7 Prince Electors, 2 Worthies, Moses and 7 Prophets ( Hosea, Daniel, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Amos, Isaiah and Joel). Very beautiful fountain in the heart of the city. It should have been the top of the church across, but back in the days they did not manage to put it up there, so they created a fountain. Fun story. Turn the brass rings and make a wish...
