I was very lucky and just happened to be passing at the time of one of the few English tours available (Sunday 11am). Entry is €5.50 for adults, and the tour lasts about 1hr 30mins. Our guide Ralph was very knowledgeable and informative, had a good sense of humour and kept the kids interested on the tour. You travel back... More

It would have been so much better had there been any english speaking guides available. Also our guide ran the tour as though it was a marathon. slowing down would also be a plus. I would have gotten so much more from it and would love to do it again if they speak english and slow down.

There were no English speaking guides available the day we were there, so we were placed in a German group and given audio guides to follow along. I usually don't mind audio guides, but their audio guide system definitely needs some improvement. There are numbers placed at different stations and stopping points throughout the cellars that are supposed to correspond... More

Beer making in Nürnberg was a must since the middle ages. These extensive cellars underground are open to the public on a guided tour. However the English audio guide is not a replacement for the tour guide. The tour guide talked about many interesting historical purposes of the these cellars and I must recommend that English-speaking people try to organize... More

This was an unexpected treat. As fans of underground/cave and beer tours, we got a little bit of both with this. The history is very cool to learn about- pickle storage, beer storage, underground bunker- what can't you do Subterranean Nuremberg? Seeing the still running water and limestone was also neat.

Having done the Berlin Underground tours, this was relatively disappointing. THe tunnels under the old town of Nuremburg are extensive, having been used for beer making and as air raid shelters for WWII. The tour operator offers audio-guides in foreign languages, including English, but these are basically useless. For example, the tour is 90 minutes with extensive German commentary, but... More
