This zoo is very well kept. The animals looked in great condition and the enclosures seemed spacious and adequate for the animals needs. Enjoyed seeing some different animals such as the polar bears and maned wolf. Reasonable entrance fee and good eating facilities.

The Zoo itself is quite nice and large, but for unknown reason is highly unfriendly to international travelers. forget about going there without a stack of cash in your pocket, no credit cards are accepted (unless you have the special german EC card) and no ATM is within reach as well. Had to leave the kids and wife waiting at... More

Definitely a must-visit. A beautiful, well-kept zoo located in a forest just outside Nürnberg. The animals seem well treated, and you get really close to them. The enclosures blend into the surrounding forest, at times leaving you to wonder if there is any separation between you and the animals at all. You can spend days wandering around this place, so... We love this zoo, it's beautiful and offers creative installations. Our favorite hands-down is the Manatee Experience, the indoor exhibition allows visitors up close and personal experiences with these incredible animals. We always go first thing when they open, then by the time we're finishing up the crowds fill the zoo.

In a large group we were able to have an escorted private tour of the zoo and then dinner was in the restaurant with a terrific dinner show that was funny and entertaining. Highly recommend this 100 year old zoo - 75 years in this location.

This zoo is fantastic! It has lots of facilities and playgrounds for the kids. The animals are well treated and the whole zoo is without a doubt greatly organized. My wife and I along with some friends have spent an outstanding memorable Saturday afternoon there and helped us to forget (even for a while) our routine lives.

This is a great zoo: not too big, and very well-laid-out. It's just the right size for kids: they can see lots of animals in really good environments, without getting tired out. We love this place! And they have snow leopards!
