I got to know about this place whilst I was checking out the Deutsches Museum. If you happen to go to the Deutsches Museum, they usually give a free entrance ticket (when you pay the entrance ticket to the Deutsches Museum) to any other musueum that forms part of the Deutsches Museum and this Flugwerft Schleissheim is one of them... leave your hotel at least 3 hours before to be able to get S1 to arrive @ the airport on time. Due to the fact that it is not very clear to know ahead which terminal you should go to.

whilst this is not the largest aviation museum in the world it does have some interesting curios, I didn't know before my visit that the Germans also had a stab at making a Vertical take of fighter as well as a VSTOL cargo plane examples of both are housed here. they have an interesting selection of early German aircraft and... Quite far out of city and need to take S1 , S-Bahn to get there and then about a 15 min walk , but straight route with sign posts (current map location in Tripadvisor wrong as of 29th April 2014, but have reported it) - museum website gives good info on transport links and directions . Good exhibits and well... More

This annex to the Deutsches Museum is a bit far off the central by any public transport but easily accessible with a car (free parking). It contains two main exhibition halls and some smaller items in between those two, and an additional hangar where the staff performs restoration works on the planes (currently a MiG-23 was there).. For entrance I... More

Located on an early Luftwaffe base (also where US Helicopters were based during Vietnam), this a great collection of some very unique and interesting planes. A focus on VTOL technology is also a welcome highlight.

It is about half an hour drive from Munich main city or about 15 minutes drive from BMW museum. I was told that the location was an old airport. That's why it is away from town and the location is actually quite hidden. But there are road signs on the way to the muzeum. It is hard to get taxi... More

Our family including 3 children aged 12,10 and 4 had an excellent afternoon here a few days ago. It's a relatively small museum but quite comprehensive, taking about 2 hours to do properly. The exhibits are very well presented and you can get very hands on - getting into the aircraft and having a proper look at what it would... More

Nice collection of aircrafts from various periods. Building and the area were terrific for walking around. Was disappointed to see that there were not too many German miltary aircraft that I have read about in war stories (or seen in FS) nor many authentic older aircraft (early 1900 decades). For those stopping on way to MUC, I wish there were... More

The quality of exhibits at this museum are superb with more than enough to keep people occupied for several hours. The halls are laid out very well and although they are packed in there is plenty of room around each exhibit. The upper walkway gives a good view of the tops of the planes and the overall hall. As you... More
