My husband is a pilot, so we decided to spend a weekend afternoon at this museum. There was also a fly-in and airplane rides taking place that day. We took the S train from Munich, which required about 15 minutes of walking from the train station to the museum - not a tough walk, but a bit long on such... More

Don't miss it! You can learn a lot about the history of airplanes and their engines. You can see original famous airplanes and even (parts) of rockets. A great place to have fun for kids and adults.

This was an excellent place to spend a couple of hours with my grandsons on a cold and damp day. The exhibits are really well displayed and labelled and there are enough 'hands on' exhibits to keep children entertained (and out of the shop!) for most of the time. My one regret is that the helicopter simulator was not open... More

This is a branch of the Deutsches Museum and the largest air and space museum of Germany. Located at Germany's oldest airport (The airfield and its historic buildings were constructed between 1912 and 1919 by the Königlich-Bayerische Fliegertruppen (Royal Bavarian Flying Corps). In the early 1990s the historic maintenance hangar was restored and enlarged with a new exhibition hall and... More

Not too big but very good aviation museum, easy to reach by a 15 minutes walk in the direction of the Schloss from the S-bahn station, there are many aircraft on a very good shape, some are even open to visit the inside. You can even see one of the early prototypes of short take off and landing aircrafts.

Can highly recommend this museum. Especially children and aviation enthusiast will be thrilled but anyone else will also be very impressed by this collection of airplanes which are beautifully displayed. There is a walkway which looks down on the workshop and if you are lucky you can see some live airplane restoration work! There are also a lot of picture... More

A large aircraft museum in the restored buildings of the Royal Bayerisches Airforce, full of civilian and military aircraft. Good explanations in German but also in English. The Schleissheim airport where the museum is located is still in use. A visit is really worthwhile

The museum is very clean, organized and comfortable. Great program for a whole day, less than this will not be enough to contemplate the history of this airport, before and after WWII. The planes are in very good shape!

The museum is quiet and well laid out with an amazing range of aircraft from the past years of German aviation. There is also a restoration hall where you can view the work in progress. The museum is about 10-15 minutes walk from Obersclheßheim S Bahn stop, a walk that takes you through the grounds of Obersclheßheim palace.
