I recommend getting there for the ferry at lunchtime. Enjoy ameal on board as you sail around the lake. The ferry stops at various places around the lake. You can get off and wait for the next one or just stay on board and enjoy the cruise.

I'm sure the Starnbergersee looks much better in summer but I suspect it is heaving with tourists. It's a very popular place for the Germans but probably work a look.

I was there with my wife and daughter, it was a bit late, so all the shacks were closed, the lake looked great though, many places down the lake road, makes you feel like you are in a totally different country for a second there...

The view was beyond beautiful with the crystal clear lake. You would love to experience the sunset while relaxing by the lake. It was such a memorable place and definitely I will be going back again.

I was here more than a year ago, and actually really enjoyed the view there. Was lucky enough to have my camera with me, you can swim there in summer, can be really busy sometimes, but the place worths a visit

the Starnberg lake can be easily reached with public transportation. The best way to explore is lakeside by boat. You enter the ferrys right at starnberg and hop on/off on your convenience. It is great to go for a walk, ride your bike around the lake or have a Starnberger beach experience. Avoid weekends in the summer - it is going to be absolutely packed. If you are hungry go to "Fischmeister".
