Phantastic setting close to the Nymphenburg Castle. The park has several sections: At the entrance there is the ornamental courtyard with neatly arraged plants and flowers according to the season, there is a little forest, a rock with alpine plants, and a garden with agricultural plants etc. It also has a nice cafeteria at the entrance and a beautiful Café... If you're in search of something peaceful, the botanical gardens are a great option. A range of beautiful plants and flowers stretching over a pretty large expanse. We especially loved the greenhouses - terrapins, giant lily pads, tropical fish and insect-eating plants and more to explore. Only a short walk from Nymphenberg palace, so it's a great idea to spend... More

This is a beautiful way to spend a day in the surroundings of Munich and find some solitude away from the city. The botanical gardens used to be free but now take a small entry charge. Take your camera and even sketch book as there are many beautiful and exotic plants and flowers on display both outside and inside the... More

Most botanical gardens look like each other but this had a distinct German feel. Well worth spending some time walking around.

We took a ride from Kranjska Gora towards Munich where I spend few months of my life in 2006. As always I had to check out the Botanische Garten once again - and I would do it any time when visiting Munich. It is simply "must see!" area. It only requires to take time to explore it, especially if you're... More

We found the garden while walking the outskirts of Old Town and it was so nice and refreshing to sit and enjoy the coolness and the lovely flowers! Nice break from the tourist crowds!

Excellent collection of plants from all over the world. However, some areas are closed and the guide is not updated. Nevertheless, it is a place I definitely recommend to visit

This is a large and important botanical garden which will interest botanists and gardeners (although the labelling is slightly erratic in places) but also a beautiful place to walk or sit and contemplate, with large formal ponds and borders, and very noisy frogs! There is a restaurant and the glasshouses offer different temperature and humidity zones. There is a reduction... More

These Botanical gardens should be on any tourist's "must do list" (after the Glockenspiel, of course) while visiting Munich. Beautiful, worth the visit, enjoy!
