A very nice zoo where I had the chance to meet and feed the lemurs. It was the best experience I've had. A 99 euros well invested! Our guide took us "backstage" to show us where the food was prepared and store. He was nice enough to try to speak in english because my german is not good enough yet... More

One of the first outings we went on after moving to Munich was to the Hellabrunn Zoo. With older kids, I wasn't expecting them to be very interested and thought it would be a short trip. We ended up staying the entire day and then bought season passes! We absolutely LOVE this zoo! There is always something new to see... More

I absolutely loved my visit to the Munich zoo. It was a sunny day in winter when i did and it looked like half of Munich decided on visiting the zoo as well. As much as I liked the zoo, i would still rate the Cologne Zoo several notches higher than the Munich zoo. Here are my highlights & lowlights... More

We visited on a cloudy Saturday afternoon in March 2014. This was a great zoo for the whole family. You could tell right away that the zoo had been here for a long time. All the trees were amazing and the grounds were very "mature". Lots of animals to be seen! We were impressed by the way the habitats where... More

Nice garden, every continent has it' s own area with relevant animals. Must see the vampire grotto (free flying bats)! Go and see the baby icebear twins. Extremely cute! Must see in munich. Gets very busy on holidas and weekends.

I think we stayed for at least one hour with the gorillas, so interesting! Even though it was winter we got to see almost all animals. The variation and the area was great! Really recommend this.

Good place to learn about the animals. Definitely worth it but winter has a few section close. Its one of the most mature zoo I visited. Trees and park are century old but very maintain. Can skip english garden and visit here instead since the park here looks better for photo shooting.

Although we had done our research for this zoo prior to visiting, we were happily surprised to find out that what we had discovered lacked to what we actually saw over there! The zoo opened to the public in 1911, and that explains why it looks like a mature zoo! By that I mean that trees are very tall, enclosures... More

Mostly when I visit zoos i feel sorry for all animals kept there. But this zoo is really great! Lots of animals and all of them look pretty happy and well cared. There are some shows (for example, elephants' show, birds' show etc). The time and place of these shows are marked in guide leaflet. There are a lot of... More

Great value for money, loads of animals that you don't see many other places eg Orangutans, gorillas, moose, quite a few elephants. Good for a Sunday when there isn't as much open. Food stalls dotted around the zoo which we didn't expect with it being December. The signs are in German so not good for English visitors but that didn't... More
