A lovely quiet spot on our walk round central Munich. An oasis of quiet with a piano player in the central 'bandstand'. Liked the way some of the beds are formally planted and other areas are being allowed to develop into flower meadows. Great short detour on the way to the English Garden. For the Eng Lit student this is... More

Munich has lots of parks and open spaces which gives the city a spacious, pleasant feel, this is a lovely place to relax away from the busy tourist streets, pretty flower beds and well kept lawn areas with a small round temple in the middle, a good place to stop to rest your legs after all the walking round town.

My favorite park that I walked through in Munich. Worth a break from seeing the traditional tourist sights to go here and take in the beautiful landscape. If it's a nice day I would suggest a picnic lunch here!

Intended just to cut through the Hofgarten en route to the bigger English Garden, but stayed much longer and soaked up some wonderful autumnal sunshine, with a wonderful performance of Chopin's etude in E major; 10 no. 3 (Tristesse) emanating from the Diana Pavillion in the centre of the garden, a wonderful oasis of tranquility midst Munich's city centre...

Very nice and calm park very centrally located. You can come from many ways here mostly tourist uses Odeonplatz entrance. When you enter form this door, you will see massive residentz buildings at the right and lovely park at the left. Beautiful, architectural fountain located in the middle, worth seeing, very lovely Italian Cafe/ restaurant to rest and have drink... More

This Munich park is a wonderful tranquil oasis in the big city, it may not be the largest park but has a wonderful atmosphere as you stroll around and spend time resting on a park bench (weather permitting). It is well laid out with colourful flower beds and kept clean and tidy.

On a Sunday afternoon, this is a beautiful place to be. However, any time you can be there is good! It is restful, serene, and depending on the season the colours will please you.

Travelled through here on route to the English garden and it was a nice, peaceful place. There are lots of benches where you could relax, read, etc.

Hofgarden is not very big but it is very beautiful, full of beautiful flowers in the summer and a great place to relax and unwind - if you can find a free bench. You can easily pass a whole day here just sitting on a bench or on a blanket, reading a book, taking a nap or listening to one... More

Coming out of the undergound and into Hofgarten, we did not expect it to be so lovely! Some of the paintings under the arches were lovely, and well kept. The amount of litter let it down a bit, as most other places in Munich were free of litter. We walked around for a little while, being entertained by a man... More
