The English Garden is just beautiful--with wild sections, little streams that pop up, including one with surfers in wet suits surfing away. The Chinese Tower is sweet--you can grab food there. And the open fields allow you to plop down, but then you can disappear down a wooded path. A must do, quick respite from urban life in Munich

Not bad at all, better in winter-visit the ski-inspired cafe there with liftcabins used as a cofee-drinking cabins. The park in general-good for a walk,as all the parks, but hot-spot for many hippie-style youngsters who have the habit to sunbathe naked, which was a bit awkward for me.So- not adequate for children during the summer.Good for a beer near the river.

Even in the middle of winter, it was pleasant to walk in such an expansive area. We stopped in the center for bratwurst and beer.

Dont miss the surfers at the Haus der Kunst. Visit any time of the year. The Englischer Garten has always something to give. The Xmas Market is very nice.

A very nice large park with a beer garden. A great place to spend a sunny afternoon.

Not much is open on a Sunday in Germany. We walked to the end and back on a lovely, crisp winter morning. We took in a couple of the beer gardens having a nice cup of warming Gluwein in each.

The garden is beautiful but in Winter quite muddy. We watched about 6 males surf the Isar River in freezing conditions. This is amazing and well worth taking a leisurely stroll through the park to find them. A very pretty park not too far from the city centre.

Great playground for the kids, despite it being about zero degrees! Squirrels, geese and swans, crazy men surfing in the canal, this park has it all. Hard to believe such a beautiful peaceful park is in the centre of a big, bustling city

Beautiful city park, lots of greenspace to wander around in on a nice day, outdoor Cafe/Restaurant is fantastic to stop and have a break under the trees. Staff is great. Espresso is fantastic and you must have the Apple Strudel
