It is really BIG area wise. It has ponies and horses. Nice jogging trail. It is full in summers for sunbath. Nice play area is also attached for children.

We visited the Englischer Garten when in Munich, Bavaria in 2010. My memories of this beautiful and extensive garden are still vivid to this day. The 48 mile long park contains numerous trails for the walker, runner, or bicyclist. We even saw surfers surfing on small waves in the Eisbach stream that runs through the park. After engaging in these... More

We visited during the Christmas period so appreciate my review will sound fairytale like because of this. The gardens themselves are not your typical ""botanic gardens" (Melb) tho more of a wood with paths throughout. Plenty of people strolling; walking their dogs; enjoying the fresh air etc. While we were there, impossibly gorgeous due to the christmas market and lights,... More

Loved all the people and of course the Biergarten.Everyone is out with their dogs/children enjoying the day. Haven't seen it during the summer but can only imagine how much more impressive that would be.

If you want to run or take a walk, this is the place to go. Tons of trails and plenty of places to wander and admire nature. Hit the bathroom in advance in the winter time, all of the WC's that I checked out were closed, but otherwise, it was a great place to relax.

A park not to be missed in Munich. A huge green space where you can do lots of things. It has a little forest, a lake, a river, a beer garden. Simply awesome, and in the middle of the city!

My fiance and I visited the Englischer garden during a trip in June of 2011, we had three days in Munich and spent part of each day here, getting food at the biergartens, or just wandering around the pathways through the park. Take an evening and sit in one of the large grassy spaces and see all the people relaxing.... More

I visit this garden both in summer and winter and I love it. Anyway, green or white is a marvelous place to spent a morning or an afternoon. I strongly recommend to visit it to everyone who stay at Munich.
