Said to the the oldest city park in the world. I could believe it! The paths are very wide, lots of places to eat and hang out. Nice lake at one end with swans swimming by. Very popular with runners and walkers.

This park is so large it's easy to miss parts of it. We had a lovely time just walking the paths, enjoying the fresh air and the scenery. The most interesting part was watching the people surf on the river - be sure to find the bridge where they do this, it's very unusual (how many places do you see... More

What a beautiful park!! Not to be missed!! Munich's backyard and great place to hang out, sunbathe, people-watch, drink a very delicious beer or two, have something to eat, smell the wood, listen to the water trickling down the creeks... Vast and totally enjoyable!!

The english garden is lovely, the beer garden is a bit expensive, but worth the experience, i would definitely recommend it for a nice afternoon, and the chinesse tower with live bavarian music is pretty cool!

We walked here from Marienplatz, what a contrast! The park is huge, with lakes, rivers, woodland and surfers. Yes surfers! We were mesmerised watching them surfing by the bridge as you enter the park. We also saw people swimming in the river - it wasn't that warm! A beautiful sunny autumnal day set off the colours of the trees and... More

Stunning gardens. We were there in mid summer, so perfect way to spend a lazy sunny afternoon. Make sure you follow the locals lead and have a dip in the cool waters flowing through, and check out the river surfers for a unique pic!

This park is beautiful. Wooded areas, green fields, lakes, rivers, beer gardens, surfing...plenty to see. Rent a bike and ride around the garden since it is huge.

I was very impressed with the size and beautiful of the English Gardens! The park is so large and has so many beautiful areas to see - it's hard to get it all in. Make sure you check out the local surfers on the part of the river located on the bottom behind the museum.
