We visited the English Garden in good weather and it's a very tranquil and beautiful place. Our favorite spot was the Chinese pagoda in the Beer Garden. There's a Beer Garden that seats (probably) 15,000 people and it's jammed on a weekend. There's an oompah band playing in the Pagoda in the middle of everything. Beers the size of your... More

Went for a walk through this beautiful garden on a sunny Sunday and very glad we did. Lots of locals of all ages out and about enjoying a range of outdoor activities. Were drawn towards the sound of music and came to an immense beer garden, complete with oompah band in the Japanese (or was it Chinese?) tower. Lovely atmosphere... More

Just a short walk from the busy city, this is the perfect place to see the other side of life in Munich. So many youngsters playing a wide variety of sports, school parties taking part in organised games, family picnics and swimming in the fast flowing river. All areas exceptionally clean and the sunny weather added to this pleasant experience.

This park is pretty with many open spaces. A bike would be the perfect way to get around. We walked, but it's a big park. Be sure to check out this kids "surfing" and the biergarten.

Well, we loved the garden - actually it is a huge park. But we still do not know why it is called like that. You can walk for hours, it has nice paths for walking, biking and even some places on the river where you can surf. Very imaginative these Germans. It was a hot day so we enjoyed a... More

We didn't do a lot in the English Garden, but we did have some food at the beer garden near the Chinese tower. A great place for people watching. And beer drinking, if you like beer. We wanted to see an authentic beer garden under the chestnut trees, and this fit the bill.

We never go to Munich with out walking this Park ( or bike riding) and having lunch and some beers in one of the many Restaurants in the Park. This is the nicest Park we have ever been to.
