Had a walk round the English Garden and there was a lot going on there. The ponds and rivers are particularly lovely, and as usual in Munich, there are plenty of places selling food so you can have a snack or a full meal. There's one spot in the garden where you can see the surfers on the river, they're... More

We cycled through this enormous park at the height of a hot summer day and despite the thousands of people the place felt tranquil. Huge fun is to be had for the brave by ignoring the verboten signs and leaping into the shallow fast-flowing streams that run through the park, to be swept away by the current and floated off... Its such a stunning park, and good exercise, good for taking your dog for a walk or cycling, we went over Christmas and it was nice to walk off all that lovely food, so easy to find with the tube and bus, lovely little stalls selling Christmas things, we came here everyday, not to be missed. Also came here in... More

Very relaxing place within the city. You can walk along the stream and watch surfers having fun (obviously during summer)!

Surfing near the "Haus der Kunst", having a Maß in the beergarten around the China Turm, cycling, jogging or having a bath in the currents of the Eisbach (and yes it earnes that name). Or just snoozing in the sun of one of the many meadows. The English Garden is an essential institution of Munich lifestyle.

Totally amazed with the size of this Park/Garden near the centre of the city and the overall beauty. It was such a peaceful place to be and the Isar River and other streams flowing through the park make you feel you are in the countryside. Munich is an amazing city with such architectural beauty, but the English Garden was the... More

I've been in this park several times a week in all seasons and love it! It is bigger than Central Park and very well preserved. The little creeks that run through it make it a nice place to sit and relax in the summer, go for a swim in the lazy river like streams. In the winter, the bridges and... More
