We went on a sunny day and it was a perfect way to finish our trip to Munich. Make sure you watch the surfers, see the Japanese tea house and have a wurst and lager at the Chinese tower beer garden.

The English Gardens are about double the size of Central Park from what I have read… theres lakes, rivers, gardens, plenty of benches and trees, and BEER! Staying true to the beer capital, the Chinese temple points way to the fabulous outdoor beer garden. As long as you are not there in March or April, I'm sure the construction will... More

It's a gianormous garden to take a stroll. We had a lovely weather that day and decided to try some Bavarian food in their beer garden. The english itself was lovely. Lots of areas for people to hangout or picnic. Great for anyone to spend their afternoon there. Don't forget to check the wave surfing spot. It's really cool to... More

Walking through the park on a crisp February day, this park has wide open spaces (which i can only assume are full of bathers in the summer) and a wonderful beer garden in the Chinese garden area. free to visit, reasonably priced beer and food.

It is a beautiful forest, with bridges, paths, all sorts of trees and birds... I liked the lake, and the peace you get from being there. You can stroll, run or just sit and watch. I would have liked if there were more places to eat or drink something, inside the garden. But still, a much recommended place to visit... More

We had a wonderful stroll through on a lovely day and enjoyed a beer in the Chinese tower beer garden which was really busy. There's also a nice beer garden by the lake and more to chose from. A fantastic green space in a beautiful city.

one of the biggest gardens in Europe. If the weather is nice you can spend the whole day there. It has a lake and restaurants as well.

Whatever the season, the English Garden is a wonderful place to be. In summer, there are ample places to picnic and it is packed with all types of people, (clothed and unclothed in some places), enjoying the beauty of the park. In autumn, the colours are fantastic and in winter, when snowy and cold, one can skate on the lake... More

I adore the English Gardens, whether to come for a coffee, or to go to the Chinese Tower for some beers when friends are in town, or just to lay around in the grass by the river or lake, I love it. It's a beautifully kept garden with baths for biking or walking and plenty of picnic places or to... More

It's a huge park. It has paths for walking, biking and horse-riding. People relax there or participate in activities like soccer. One can swim in parts of the stream, the Eisbach, although it is very cold. If one enjoys bird-watching, there are a number of bird species living there, including bar-headed geese, swans, tawny owls and white-throated dippers. There are... More
