Tons of benches and people drinking...a great spot to stop for a break & a beer. You actually get 1 euro back when you return the glass to the washing station.

If you have a free day in Munich and would like to see the greener side of this city, head to the Englischer Garten (English Garden). It is a sprawling park where you'll be able to find a serene, quiet place all to yourself - even in this busy city. Start your walk in the old town. Visit the Viktualienmarkt... More

You can spent the day there. Park is huge and can suntan, ride your bike, walk, go to many Biergarten and even surf where the river enters the park. Clothing optional for suntanning, be aware. Take U-Bahn to universitat station. No bike renting on site but can rent a boat to go on the lake.

A must go to place in Munich. Truly beautiful. I had a lovely lunch right on the lake. It is totally worth it to walk through the entire garden until you get to the lake. Just breathtaking.

Went on a Sunday and it was so nice to see families out enjoying themselves. Very busy. Nice for a stroll through. Peace and quiet in the heart of the city.

This is a big park! Bigger than Central Park. It's very pleasant and serene. We enjoyed a lovely early Autumn walk through part of it. Walkways meander through the trees, could be easily enough to get lost in here, well if you wanted to anyway. The standing surf wave at the lower end is worth a look. One can spend... More

We walked across the Poets Garden and under the subway to the English Garden. Pretty lake and trees of different coloured leaves as it was September. Lots of paths to walk and eventually we came to the Chinese Tower where an oompah band was playing live and beer, tea, coffee and icecream were being served. Great to sit in the... More

Definitely do it on a bike to enjoy it! The English garden is huge and if you walk it, only allows u to see part of it. It's so big and bigger than Central Park in USA.
