On our final day in Munich my wife and I were just looking for a low key place to hangout and escape the craziness of the city. The English Garden was perfect. The beer garden was small with a nice band playing from the upper level of a Chinese Pagoda. I know, a little ironic, but very enjoyable. The grounds... More

The English Gardens is huge and one would probably need a full day to explore the whole garden. We spent around 3 hours in the garden and only covered probably only 1/3 of the whole garden. It was also cool seeing the surfers around the gardens riding the waves of the Isar river running through the garden. The only problem... More

When the weather is nice it is very enjoyable to seat in the beer garden and enjoy a beer. And the food is good too and not too expensive.

The garden is quite big, has a restaurant, beer garden and lots of small stalls in the summer period plus a Greek style temple on a hill. Curiously the waterways that run through the park have been powered to create waves making it possible to surf, which many locals apparently do. Quite cool.

It's a bit tricky to get there from the centre of Munich, with a few tram changes, but it's worth it. You'll love the Christmas markets and lots to do for children.

I found this garden so ordinary. It's really big, and good for relaxing and picnics, but there's nothing so special about it.

Great park with lots of different funktions. Take a walk pass the bridge and look at the surfers, go pass the Chinese tower, grape a beer and enjoy the stream going through the park.

For Oktoberfest they have music, food, beer and tons of tables to sit and enjoy the day. The roast chicken is great. Beautifully decorated horse drawn carriages roam the area.

Just a wonderful public place in the centre of Munich. There is something different and interesting in every section. A must-go.
