Beautiful and thoroughly enjoyed by all Muncheners and visitors. Trails, temples, bikes, beer, oompah bands. You name it, this enormous park has it all -- even surfing! Definitely find your way to the Chinesischer Turm (Chinese tower) and hoist a liter in the large biergarten!

The highlight of visiting Munich with my husband has to be all the walks we did in the park. English Garden was one of our favourite parks ever. What a beautiful and scenic park it was. Like Strawberry fields! A great place for a picnic on a sunny day. And the beer garden is highly recommended.

The English Gardens are a perfect spot to sun bathe or chill out on the banks of the river, go walking, jogging, running or cycling. Or maybe just enjoy a beer in one of the two 'biergartens'. One thing you must see while in the gardens are the surfers who surf on a wave underneath a bridge at the entrance... More

Rent a bike and ride, ride, ride--then stop for beers at the Seehouse on the lake or the Chinese Tower or one of the hidden beer gardens at the edge of the bike path. The streams, green fields, trees and flowers, the English Garden is an oasis in Munich.

Compare with gardens in London it is average. Also we found that walking after rain by roads in this garden isn't pleasant - roads were covered with mud (roads made from pink sand - sorry, I don't know special therm for it).
