Description: We offer exceptional walking tours in Munich and the surrounding area...
We offer exceptional walking tours in Munich and the surrounding area. We specialise in 3rd Reich and WW2 military history, archaeology and Medieval themes or can tailor a private tour to your wishes. We are also able to offer tours of the Dachau Memorial site with fully trained, tested and knowledgeable guides. As well as Munich history we offer a unique tour to Regensburg which focuses on Roman archaeology and Medieval Jewish history. We believe in using all the senses so expect to handle artefacts like ancient pottery, swords, armour, uniforms, original documents and photographs. Unlike other firms, ALL our guides have a background in history and heritage and have previously worked professionally in these sectors in roles as diverse as archaeologists, museum and theatre advisors and period-specialist film extras. Discounts given for students, seniors and serving or ex-military/ambulance crew/fire brigade/police officers. Suitable for history lovers aged 8 to 80.

I can't say enough good things about this tour. We asked for a combination of a several tours on the website and Mr. Simon (Taff) was happy to accommodate our request. I arrived at out meeting spot five minutes early and Taff was already there waiting, which was nice to see. He had the trains/buses taken care of, so all... More

An archeologist by trade and an amazing historian, David "Taff" Simon provided us with a highly informative tour of Munich. Taff has an engaging personality and showed us a spectacular time. It was fasinating to learn the Munich historical perspective ofWWI as well as that of the American allies. Great conversation, great food and beer. An overall amazing time. A... More

Taff was so accomodating, engaging and friendly. His passion for history was evident and you couldn't help but be interested in the material he covered. He modified the tour based on the ages of our kids. They unanimously agreed he was the best tour guide ever.

Taff escorted my wife and I on a tour of Third Reich-related sites around Munich. An archaeologist by trade, he was very knowledgeable and was well prepared with materials to illustrate the events that took place at each site. While I was already very well-versed in the history of the era, he helped my wife better understand the significance of... More

Taff provided the best tour I have ever taken. From a walking tour of downtown Munich, beer halls, and its history, to Dachau, so many areas were covered, including the fascinating, dark, and disturbing. He brought each venue to life with vivid stories. Taff provides personalized tours and is well worth it -- he loves history and has a special... More

A massive thank you to Taff for changing up our tour of Dachau to suit my eclectic family. He could tell that we might have sampled a few of the local beers too much the night before, and that we were also not handling the 0 degree temperatures too well, so tailored the Dachau tour around our needs. He was... More

His business card says David Simon. But he goes by his nickname "Taff" - When a fella introduces himself to you by his nickname you know straight away he is cut from a different cloth to most. Let me start by saying this... David (or Taff) is the most committed tour guide i have ever had the priveledge of meeting...(yep,... More

We spent a very memorable day with Taff, only a couple of days before Christmas, walking around Munich and learning all about the city during the rise to power and the early years of the Nazi party. When Taff arrived, at exactly the time he said he would, he was carrying a big rucksack full of physical bits of history... More

A group of four of us joined Taff on Thurs 4th December 2014 for a 1918 to 1939 history tour but we had asked that he mix this up with a Brewery and Brewing history tour, something he hadn't been asked to do before so ours was the first such tour they'd done. We were joined by Austin, who provided... More

Keith was a phenomenal tour guide. He walked us through the Dachau concentration camp and around Munich focusing on the history during the time Hitler rose to power in Munich. Keith was flexible as we asked for some good local food and drink as part of the day. He has the perfect tour guide personality - communicates well, easy-going, and... More
