This museum is great. You could easily spend a day and not be able to enjoy all of it. I would go back if I could. more

The Alte Pinakothek is a fantastic, world-class art museum. Da Vinci, Boticelli, Rubens, Raphael, Rembrandt, van Dyck, you name it! To visit is is nearly overwhelming; the paintings, breathtaking. The museum has the oldest known Da Vinci, and the worlds largest oil on canvas, the stunning Rubens work "Last Judgement"! In fact, I believe the museum has the largest Rubens... more

One of the finest galleries in the world. The early German works are outstanding, particularly Durers self portrait, and Lucas Cranachs Adam and Eve.The best collection of Rubens you are likely to see. The Hippopotomus Hunt is a triumph.And make sure you don't miss the tiny Rembrandt self portrait as a young man. It's only small, so look hard!Also some... more
