If you love the old masters, this museum is for you. We went on a Sunday when admission is only 1 euro and it was not crowded. Lockers are required for backpacks or large purses and they cost 2 euros. Audio guides can be rented for 4,50 euros. There is a cafe. There are also folding seats you can carry... More

Been twice before, but this time went just to see a special exhibition on Jan Breughel, bringing together his paintings from collections all over the world

Do not miss the wonderful paintings in the Old Pinakothek. Paintings galore! Even if you are not the artistic type, you are bound to fall in love with many paintings.

Thank goodness we went there. I have been in the big galeries in Florence, Madrid and Paris. This was the first time that I appreciated that Ruebens was a fantastic technician but his subject matter would classifiy him as a psycopath.

We decided to go to this museum as an after thought because we had a few hours to kill. After seeing the likes of the Academia, Uffzi, Lourve and orangerie I was not planning to be impressed but I surprisingly was. It is a tasteful gallery with some excellent pieces. It is 8 euro per person and comes with a... More

Brueghel show was wonderful. Also, a very fine permanent collection. Museum is broken down into a number of different buildings. We hope to visit the others on future visits.

The building is amazing. There is a main staircase and it is huge. The art however, is too religious for my liking. Its 1 euro on a Sunday though.

I could have spent a lot longer here. Didn't expect this much good stuff in one place. Especially the Italian and Spanish painting. Very nice. Worth the walk.

The Pinakothek has one of Da Vinci's madonnas. It also has a glorious Raphael of the holy family, with the pyramidal construction that Da Vinci introduced in his St Anne and the Virgin (in the Louvre). The colours are amazingly vibrant and it's worth making the trip to the museum for this reason alone. But that's far from all there... More
