It is a must see for your visit to Munich, the atmosphere inside is electrifying live music the food is good service ok but the menu is a little misleading and expensive.

Came here after reading about the fact that this place is the quintessential beer house in munich. It is very popular with tourists hence quite crowded when I arrive just before noon. Took a long time, 20 minutes for the waitress to take my order, she was more interested in clearing plates and taking orders from other tables. However, they... More

This is a must visit place when in Munich, getting a place to sit is really difficult and we had to share our table with another couple. It was an extreamly good experience as you can see the local German cultural Musical. Beers were served in 1liter and 0.5liter Mugs, food portions were generous.

It was all crowed and noisy when we entered and we had trouble finding a seat at first, it ends up with squizing with another two German guys at the same table and meet two new "friends" after all, the Bavarian band was playing live music, servers were walking passing by every table to offer you huge pretzels! you can... The famous Hofbrauhaus is enormous and has a German band playing Ompah music. You have the feel it is Octoberfest even if it is August. The large steins live up to their name. The typical German food is okay but go there for the beer and not the food.

We had lunch here and then looked at the small museum. Food and beer were excellent. Very busy, service was ok. Beer garden was excellent but very busy .

We used the Rick Steve's walking tour of Munich to guide through the city. We really enjoyed a pint of local beer and a pretzel, along with some great Bavarian music, as a stopping point on the trip. This place is a most see if your schedule allows.

This is a very busy establishment but if you're after bratwurst and beer it's got those, plus pretzels and staff in traditional dress! We had 2 large beers, sharing sausage and bread platters and 2 soft drinks (the children were excited that they came in proper beer glasses with handles) for €40. It's not the cheapest, but you're in a... More

The Hofbrauhaus isn't the best beer hall in München, but it really must be on your must see list. Always a fun experience.

I know some people don't like this place but it simply has to be done. We arrived on a warm Friday evening and although busy we found a table quite quickly. Service was efficient and just to sit there and enjoy a large beer in the atmosphere of the oompah band and the traditional dress was great. Yes its a... More
