Beautiful auditorium. Excellent buffet facilities for the interval. It has a spacious interior. Opera production unusual but singing very good indeed.

always like to catch up on my opera and the bavarian opera house is one of the nicest in my opinion. arriving at the great entrance at night with all the lights and chandeliers and well dressed people is a sioght to be remembered. Wining and dining and listening to great performers is truly worth a visit!

well, if you are in Munich during the opera season, opera lovers should not miss an opera there. They usually have great singers and modern staging. However, it is very difficult to get seats at the last minute so one should go online to order tickets in advance.

This is one of the great opera houses of the world. The reasons runs usually until July. Productions are excellent, so go even if you don't know the opera or the cast.

Went to a marvellous Jonas Kaufmann recital and La Forza del Destino absolutely stunning performances. The Opera House tour is also very interesting and very good value at only 7 euros

Opera festival in summer with the big stars, and exciting productions. The opera house itself is worth visiting.

We attended the 11am concert and were surprised to see so many peopled dressed up for the evening going out. It looked great and give special mood. The opera house looks beautiful, though the Bolshoi in Moscow and Viennese Opera are more exquisite to my mind. However, we enjoyed it. To be mentioned value for money - we paid 70€... More

We saw two Strauss operas (Ariadne auf Naxos, Der Rosenkavalier) and one Mozart opera here (The Marriage of Figaro) during the festival and enjoyed all three. Do bear in mind of course that you won't get English surtitles, so if you struggle with German and are not totally familiar with the operas, do read the synopsis carefully and if possible... More

I took a tour of this place and so the behind the scenes places and was amazed at the size of the place and of the props which need 120 people to operate efficiently. I recommend such tour to appreciate the dedicated work it takes to carry out an opera.

Well-maintained house with the usual "continental" seating plan (no center aisle) in the "orchestra" section. Stage is one of the deepest anywhere in the world. Good acoustics. Dress for the Festival varied from very formal to casual.
