The size and theme of this church were impressive - we didn't have the time (or energy) to make it up the tower to see the city, but will plan our next trip accordingly to allow it! more

Experiencing a church is, of course, a personal matter, & no doubt hearing a concert or a mass there will contribute to and enrich the experience. I left the airport with a 6 hour layover. Caught a train (subway) S6? from the airport to the Marienplantz (sp!) stop. As a previous reviewer stated, it was right around the corner from the town square and the Glocenspiel (sp). This is one wonderful church to visit. It is hard to believe that I am the first to review Frauenkirche. Simply said, if you are in Munich, it is a must. Apparently, beginning in April you can climb to the tower (similar to St. Pete's) for a better view of the altstadt, although I was there in March... It doesn't compare to Birnau in the bodensee region,... more
