Went to see this castle from the outside, but didn't have enough time to do the inside tour. It is a must if you are in Bavaria. Unfortunately the weather was atrocious the day I went - raining and cold. The castle itself is amazing and the views from it also great. The only trouble is - as with most... More

Magnificent castle, definitely go to Mary's bridge for photo ops. Well run tours if not a little rushed but understandable with the amount of tourists. Best in the early morning - We had an 8:50 ticket reservation and a 9:50AM tour which beet the majority of the day trippers.

Wow, we had an amazing time at Neuschwanstein Castle!! We arrived nice and early and were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the castles were, no line-ups and no crowds (yet). We walked up to the castle, which only took 25min and was a nice walk up a paved street. In the castle, we enjoyed the length of our tour and... More

You will first buy your ticket at the bottom of the hill (street level between the two castles) and receive your admission time (open daily April-Sept 800-1700, Oct-March 900-1500). Then you will have time to shop or get some breakfast or lunch if you plan to take the bus; otherwise I hear it's a steep 30-minute hike. We wondered through... More

Lots of stairs - 93 in one go alone and many many others so be prepared. It's a must see however and we enjoyed it. So I recommend heartedly.

It is beautiful. Difficult to reach for people who can't walk uphill very far. Hope that the weather is good, because if it isn't your experience could be a little disappointing. The tour is worth it.

This was an unforgettable experience and it is all because of the fabulous historical knowledge, guidance, and sense of humor of our tour guide, Roland. Radius Tours has quite a gem on their hands with this man! His storytelling ability is spellbinding and he had everyone (whether a member of our tour group or not) mesmerized. The detail of the... I was a little disappointed in the "English" speaking tour; the guide's accent made it difficult to follow the history of the castle. The castle is well maintained, the country side beautiful and definitely worth a visit. The length of the visit is controlled by the tour; but one can enjoy the walk to the castle and the surrounding area.... More

We arrived with our tour group to the bottom of the mountain where you can find restaurants, shops, bathroom facilities and ticket area. After buying your ticket, you can either walk up to the castle - which is a steep and long climb, or take the bus or small fee, go by horse and wagon. We all took the bus.... More

This castle is an architectural work of art. The views from Mary's Bridge (up by the bus stop) provide the best pictures of the castle. The English tour was very well guided and answered all of our questions. There are quite a few stairs and the hike to get there is not the easiest. I would not recommend this castle... More
