We stopped for lunch. It was a very typical Bavarian lunch and well worth the price. You would assume from its location to be a tourist type trap but it maintains its typical Bavarian charm quality, and service.

You can imagine what the atmosphere must have been like here in the day. 'Heroic' sculptures to remind you of the 'ideal'. No working WC here; you had to be a customer at the restaurant.

Towering ski jump, reconstructed in 2008, is a sight to behold on its own. However, the original seating and carvings, the balcony of the guesthouse where Hitler would address the crowd in 1938, there are no words!

Since attending an Olympic Games (London 2012) my family has visited several other Olympic venues. The 1936 Winter Olympics were held here in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the stadium is still used today for winter sporting events. Hiking trails and summer toboggan runs can be found here. If you have the chance, come here at New Year's Eve for one of the... More

Very scenic and well maintained place. You get a bit of history touch here too.Nothing much to spend a lot of time here. But take a walk by the road next to the Stadium which is next to the river. Nice sound of water makes your mind fresh.

Enough said I think. Massive car park which is reasonably priced, you can also park here for the Partnach. gorge. In this area is the summer Rodelbahn, toboggan which is a must, 650m of fun for €2. Plenty of walks, cable car and of course the Olympic Stadium. Amazing building and looks very much as it would have in the... More

Walked to the stadium in the early evening just as the light was fading. Close-ip the jumps are amazing and very high! The stadium is historic and having visited the Berlin stadium earlier in the year it becomes a bit special to have visited both and imagine it full during an Olympic event. Well worth a visit.

The slopes were cool to see and the area around it. The history is interesting to. It is nice to see before you hike up to the Partnach Gorge and the the Zugspitze.

It was great to see the historic site of the winter Olympics and see the old ski jump still in place next to a much larger and recent one. The historic photos on the wall showing the crowds also provide a more real aspect to it...you are standing in the footsteps of history. On the day we went we were... More

Living across the pond it's exciting being able to visit the Olympic stadiums of past Olympics. What an historic feel It gives you. Yes the stadium is old, yes it had better days but it still gives you at aww moment. My kiddos liked the ski jump and the statues. Either than that, not much to see but walk the... More
