Take a good look at what you want to achieve and purchase the relevant ticket. Loads of options available and the staff at the Zugspitze Bahn are 100% helpful. The classic ticket (Plastic chip and pin card) allows travel up and down the Zugspitze and Alpspitze by various means i.e. Cogwheel train Seilbahn etc. Changing trains is easy but arrive... More

This offers enormous variety and could provide several days of activity. We went up by Alpspitz Bahn, one of the most exciting I have ridden. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy so the view from Alpspix kept appearing and disappearing and we never got the full scary effect. We took the cable car down to Hausberg and then walked to Kreuzeck... More

We went to the top to take a walk in the Alpine gardens and stand on the viewing platform. Both were great. So was the beer and pretzel. But, the walk down to the next gondola was incredible. It is pretty easy. I would advice having walking sticks, because it is pretty steep and there is lots of fine gravel,... More

We were just passing through, and we stayed at a family run hotel which could have been better, the scenery is to die for but the one evening that we were there didn't give us enough time to enjoy the town.

A fully refurbished campsite in Grainau places for motorhomes, caravans and tents. Good clean shower block and washing up facilities, electric by meter, no camper room for the tenters when it rained this was the only negative. There is a bus service directly outside the site which was free locally. A few hundred yards away there is a second site... More

When me and my family go to Garmisch we always go up on gondola walk the mile or so to the other one and take it to the finally peak. We like this for the hiking up and down the mountain. There are activities on the peak and an overlook up there. Once we are done with all that fun... More

There was a lot of variety for the intermediate skier. It's more advanced that most American beginners would like, but if you enjoy the blue slopes in the U.S., you'll like the slopes here. We had a great time!

Love the slopes. There is a great selection of runs for a short ski break but unfortunately the snow is very poor there.High up it is good but the run to the bottom is dangerous.
