The hike to the top of the Partnachklamm restaurant is beutiful and a good workout but them you go down over the mountain and will see the most beautiful sights. Go in the winter and there are ice crystals all over the ground and finish you hike through the gorge to see more icicles and mother nature at its best.... More

Seriously, if you are visiting Bavaria this is a must see. So hard to describe to really do it justice. We visited in Summer and it was totally awe inspiring with the rush of the water forcing it's way through the ravine. Would be even more specatular in winter with snow and icicles hanging from the ledges but take nothing... More

From the Garmisch-Partenkichen end you have to park by the Olympic stadium and walk. It's over a mile walk to the entrance. I would highly recommend seeing this beautiful, picturesque gorge in the Bavarian Alps. All natural, of course... You have to walk a little ways away from the Olympic ski jump and then walk up a short hill to start this adventure, but it is not difficult at all. Once you enter the gorge, you will not regret it!! This gorge has beautiful waterfalls and tunnels cutting through the rock. You can choose to hike either through the gorge or above it via a trail and footbridges. Just as much of a must see as the Zugspitze. More
