Internal adornments were fantastic and history of the Church most interesting - suggest use a local guide to explain all

We walked into this church and just said "WOW!!" From the outside, this church looks quite ordinary, but once you get inside then the decoration is absolutely fantastic. The style is Rococo, very beautiful, and one can only admire the skill and passion of the Artists who created this marvellous, very serene place. We felt that we were very privileged... More

The parish church of Sts. Peter and Paul is a beautiful Rococo style church, and is well worth the visit when stopping in Oberammeragu. As It is a place of worship, please be respectful on your visit…and take a few minutes to use its quietness for prayer and reflection. You enter the church through the side courtyard, which also houses... More

When going to Oberammergau, this church is worth visiting besides the beautiful painted houses. The ornate Rococco interior is very beautiful to look at, but if you have visited the Wieskirsche or Ettal Monastery, then the interior of this church has a similar style, well at least to my untrained eye. If you have visited those 2 places, then this... More

When in Oberammergau ensure you walk through the town, and after admiring the painted houses, get to the Church. The exterior is nothing special but the interior is magnificient with a number of wonderful paintings on the ceiling and no shortage of baroque ornamentation..

This was a beautiful church. The frescos were breath taking. We were left in awe of the beauty between the paintings and the wood carving details to the gold detail. Magnificent!

Oberammergau was my favorite city of our trip. They were all beautiful, but Oberammrgau was the most beaufitul. The church is unbelievable. The inside is so ornate, which paitings on the ceiling and a gilded alter. It's absolutely breathtaking.

The dome of the Oberammergau church has been featured in representations of this town ever since the church was built. The exterior is beautiful. What we most valued about our visit to the church was the opportunty to walk through the cemetery to see the local styles of creating headstones of carved wood and to search for the graves of... I don't want to lower expectations of potential visitors but since we've been to so many beautiful spectacular churches in Germany, this one is par for the course. It's not bad, it's just another average *(though beautiful) church. If you've never been to one before, you must see it. If you have a thing for churches, you must see it.... More

Beautiful old church in the heart of Oberammeragau. Old cemetery stones are at peace around the church. The towns people have a passion for their church and heritage.
