We enjoyed a beautiful trip on a boat, where one of the staff asked everyone to be quiet, the boat was stopped while he played the trumpet, causing a haunting echo through the mountains! Only downside was that the talk was entirely in German! We only caught snippets because a lady was translating for her American relative! Konigsee is beautiful,... More

A great place to spend a day. Glacier lake is magnificent and electric powered boats can take you out for a pleasant cruise. Scenery is top notch.

Bought a ticket to Salet and walked to Oberzee and the waterfall! The walk to the hut on the other side of Oberzee took us about 50 minutes- we stopped to take pictures. You are able to buy beer, fresh milk or apple juice. By then you might feel peckish- not to worry- you are able to buy bread with... More

We had a lovely ride on the quietest Electric boat across the lake. We got off at the midway stop and took a beautiful hike up the mountain. The only problem was getting back - it was a holiday weekend, and the line to get back on the boat was about 2 hours long. Still, it was worth the visit... More

Beautiful lake. Nice shopping, pedestrian area. If the boat would go faster, a person would have more time to patronize the first stop and or enjoy the hiking at the second stop.

This is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and is certainly the best lake in Germany. Konigssee is located just west of Berchtesgaden and easily accessible by car or bus. This is a resort type town with many shops and a few hotels that have stood there for many years. The highlight is the boat ride that... More

A stunning lake and well worth the journey to the far side! Stunning views and listening to the ferry driver play the trumpet half way is fantastic. Extremely calm and clear and very refreshing to swim in... Would be excellent top be there for the bobsled world champs in 2016!

Take the boat as far as it goes and then walk to the waterfall for marvellous views. Queues for the boats lengthen from about 9.30 am.

This place is BEAUTIFUL! We were in Berchtesgaden for a 1:15 tour of the Eagle's nest and had time to kill before then. We wanted to go to the salt mines, but because of road construction, we had trouble getting to the parking lot. Rather than frustrate ourselves, we abandoned the salt mine plan and went to Konigssee instead. I... More
