Peaceful ride out on the lake, which is deep and blue, and surrounded by mountains. The boat was quiet, too, as all boats on the lake are electric to help protect the environment.

I had been to Berchtesgaden before, not the national park. This place is a must see, it's one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen (I live in Scotland, the most beautiful place on earth). The lakes, the mountains, the trees....take a camera and go wild. I also proposed to my girl friend while we were there, it... More

My parter and I took the electric boat ride from the top of the lake to Salet at the furthest point of the lake. Cost was 16.90 euro return. The boat was totally packed until we reached St Bartholoma when a lot got out. We continued on. The scenery was amazing and I had several WOW moments. We got off... More

The boat trip on the Konigssee is one of our most prized memories of our vacation! The classic electric boats offer a quiet and peaceful way to see an absolutely stunning scenic jewel. We stopped at St. Bartholoma and enjoyed a lunch of smoked trout caught from the lake and smoked on-site. We then hiked up to a waterfall and... More

The King's Lake is a great area for hiking and a beautiful boat ride. The area is stunning, and very well preserved. We really enjoyed our time here. A little crowded, but definitely beautiful!

Konigssee though in Germany is just 30 Kms from Salzburg.A 45 min ride in a bus from Salzburg railway station brings you to Berchtegaden railway station from where a shuttle takes you to Konigssee in 10 mins. The return journey on the same day cost less than 20 Euro by bus. Koingssee which means Kings Lake is rightly named so... More

The Konigssee or King's Lake is great place for a day out when in the Berchtesgaden area. We were on our way from Chiemsee to Fussen on the Deutsche Alpenstrasse and were spending a couple of nights in Berchtesgaden. Naturally, Kongissee was an experience we did not want to miss and we are so glad that we made a good... More

This is a spectacularly beautiful part of the world. See it by boat or an energetic walk and you will be glad you did. Great views can be had from the relatively inexpensive restaurant across the Konigssee from the boat docks - literally the last building before the cliffs
