We took the boat ride , along with about 20 other people, across this stunning lake in one of the lovely wooden craft. It glided almost silently over the crystal clear water as the onboard guide explained the unique nature of the lake and its history. The surrounding mountains provide the kind of echo you would expect to hear in... More

The lake with its pristine water and olive green color is one of a kind. Once you are on a boat trip there, it is like a dream. The best part of it is when the boat master plays his trumpet with music and it echoes back from the valley amidst the absolute silence. It is one of the must... More

This is a magical place to visit. Located just south of Berchtesgaden and Salzburg, this deep lake is surrounded by majestic scenery. The lake's water is notably clear and for this reason only electric-powered ships and rowing boats have been permitted for over 100 years. If you travel on a boat tour, there will be a stop and a trumpet... More

Drove here and got a boat trip along the lake. This has to be one of the most beautiful places I have been. Great views and a good trip. The guide spoke in English and German. I would certainly do this again. We went in the afternoon so was a bit rushed, the next time we will go in the... More

Truly the King of Lake, this sight is not to be missed if you happen to be in the Southern part of Germany/Salzburg Austria. I loved my day trip here, and walking down the lake with pairs of mandarin ducks waddling around was a feeling I'd never forget. Hiking is possible here and there are cruises that ferry passengers out... More

The most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. You have to see the upper lake – legendary. We will always take the opportunity to come here again.

The electric boat ride on the Konigssee is a must thing to do when you visit Berchtesgaden. It is 20 minute ride with a great view along the way. A deep blue water accompany with sky high mountain range will keep you say wow. And when the boat get to the pier, you can get off the boat and walk... More

There is a huge pay parking area only a few minutes walk from the lake. No free parking spots that we could find. Tickets are bought at the dock for around 13EUR adult and kids 6-14 half price (this will get you to St Bartholoma (12 century church)and boats leave every 20 minutes or so. (each can hold about 80... More

If you travel to Southern Bavaria, dont miss it. It is a gem! The views are specatcular, if you are in a hurry, take a boat ride to St Bartolomae, have lunch there (the fish is marvellous) and back later in the afternoon. If you have a whole day and if you are good on foot and reasonably fit, walk... More
