The first time, I travelled from Munich by train and spent a... More

This is a beautiful place to see the lake. You can seat outside or inside and eat local delicious food while enjoying the scenery or you can take a boat ride and enjoy all view points from the boat.

We took the ferry to St Bartholomew on Christmas day, the tour guide we very friendly however not much info in English. Absolutely stunning and picturesque worth the rather steep fare price.

The ride in a large electric powered boat is highlighted by a pause at some cliffs while a gentleman plays a horn to get beautiful echoes cascading down to the lake.

Obviously full of tourists but unless you have the time to hike around the lake, join the other tourists and take a boat the whole way.

There is a direct bus from Salzburg( I don't remember the bus number exactly, but it starts from Salzburg main train station) and it will take you to Berchtesgaden Hbf.From there we... More

we were there in winter- so it was cold, but nice. the boat trip is great, beautiful scenery. there is a nice restaurant at the half-way point ( they only go that far in winter for some reason). what is worth doing is to go on a hike to the ''ice chapel"', about an hours walk from the restaurant. be...
