- It's amazing and the most scenic attraction during my journey in Germany. - Though I believe that the best season to visit Konigssee is Spring/Summer, my Winter's visit is still overwhelmed with stunning views and impressive. It cannot be described sufficiently well in my photos. - The echo effect in the valley is really inspiring and special in my... More

I am lucky to live a few minutes away from this lake, it is out of this world, the water is clean and has an emerald color to it. In winter is beautiful but in Spring/Summer is truly amazing! go all the way to the fish house in Obersee is worth paying a visit to it! there is also a... More

"The King's Lake" or Lake Konigssee is a special place. When you arrive it may seem like you have entered into a tourist trap. Just keep walking though the overpriced shops to the lake. Be sure to walk around the area and check out the bobsled track which is really cool! The boats on the lake are all electric and... More

Drive to the JennerBahn ski lift and take the lift to the topmost station. Walk up the trail, about 1/4 mile to the top, to see the amazing view of the Konigsee and the valley. Then go eat lunch at the restaurant at the topmost station. At the bottom of the lift, walk to the water and take the boat... More

We were staying in Austria and drove over the for day to visit The Konigsee, as we read about it in our Rick Steve's book. We were overwhelmed with the natural beauty and felt very pleased we were able to spend the afternoon here. There is a giant parking lot and you walk down to the lake passing little places... More

We stopped for lunch in Konigsee after spotting it from Eagles Nest.. What a find. Admittedly, there were the compulsory tourist shops selling trinkets of all shapes and sizes but we walked around the corner and found a beautiful cafe on the lake with swans drifting by and an idyllic view over glassy water. Lunch was very reasonably priced and... More

We were there in January winter time in the snow but it is well worthwhile taking the boat trip on the lake - you will be stunned by the view and awed but the echo effect if the pilot stops the boat and takes out his trumpet

Visited this lovely place last august. We reached berchtesgaden by car from zell am see, austria. The car park was massive, not very expensive either. The market stalls on the shores of lake konigsee were very pretty, full of locally made souvenirs. The journey takes about one hour, very picturesque. took loads of pictures, though the weather was quite cloudy... More

I've visited in the summer and the place is just too busy. In January you almost have the place to your self with the added bonus of a covering of snow.

If you are in Berchtesgaden make sure you take the boat tour to the end of the lake and walk up to Obersee. Obersee is an incredible view. Konigssee is also incredible, but not making it to Obersee when you have come this far would be a terrible mistake.
