We were pleasantly surprised with this museum. Huge amount of information about WW2 and Hitler in particular. A must if you are staying in close by area. More

Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) has good views but that is all. Otherwise it is just a restaurant on top of a mountain. As long as it is a nice day, it is worthwhile going, just don't expect any historical information, etc. The Doc center is very worthwhile. Has lots of information as well as a bunker you can explore. The views from Obersalzberg are absolutely amazing. I love the freedom visitors have up there - you do not have to be part of any guided tour and are free to roam. The ghosts of WW2 are everywhere, and it's fascinating to stand where so many historic moments have taken place. Take your camera and a walking stick. More

The bus ride up is as beautiful as it is nerve-wracking. The Eagles Nest (Kehlstein haus) is in an amazing location on top of the mountain. Everything is well-organized and easy to figure out. You get your tickets, and once up at the top get your tickets stamped for the time you wish to return. Even little ones in strollers... More

Visit the ss underground tunnels under the hotel zum turken and the remains of the Berghof just a minutes walk away. The area has many remains of the SS and Hitlers most well known area. More
