A short walk to the fall, quite a steep route, but mostly on a little road. Remember to buy your token to go through the turnstiles to enter the path to the waterfall. A lovely little excursion- excellent value for money! You are also able to use your guest card when you buy your token!

This happened to be on our way and what a beautiful place this was! Entry was just 2 euros per person and the walk beside the falls took under 30 minutes. We walked a little further in the park and beautiful scenery continued. Parking lot was a bit too small, we happened to find one spot after circling few times.

A lovely 2-3 hour hike with gradual incline for those of average fitness. Acoustics further up fantastic especially in the Schloss area.

Not an easy find for those who haven't researched it. But for those who like rushing water, we recommend finding it. Once parked on the street with the same name (wimbachklamm) walk up the steep hill (there is a small yellow sign directing you to go up) and buy a token for 2 euro at the station near the farmland.... well maintained and easy to navigate wooden path constructed along the canyon. Takes 20 minutes. ATTENTION: Unidirectional, i.e. take it at the beginning of your trip and continue your walk after exiting (or return to the car park in 20 min). Buy your token in an automat a few hundred meters before the entry gate!

Just short time driving from Salzburg is One of the best nature places to walk around. There are some walking options, long and short depends on your mood. To see the waterfalls you must by a "coin", is the automatic machine if not function ( our case ) you can by it at the shop near by.

The Wimbachklamm (Wimbach stream gorge) is a short canyon between Ramsau and Berchtesgaden in Berchtesgadener Land. While nothing spectacular, it is nevertheless a well-maintained boardwalk which offers a nice experience of rushing water and sheer cliffs. It should be easy to access with baby strollers as well. There is a pittance entry fee (around 1€ as I remember) and the... More

Our visit to this fabulous Gorge was most surprising it was so fantastic, uphill walk before you reach the gate turnstile which you buy a token for before you head for the Gorge people there will help you use the automated token despenser, then the Gorge although not huge you have a very comfortable walk around, on a board walkway... We were driving back home from Berchtesgaden and decided to take a short break and hike Wimbachklamm. We are glad we did! Parking was provided at the bottom of the gorge and there was quite a steep hill to climb-maybe 10 minutes-before the beginning of the hike. The wooden plank walkway was very well maintained and ran along the river.... More

You can easily reach the Wimbachklamm from the main bus/train station in Berchtesgaden by taking bus 346 bound to Ramsau/Hintersee then get off at the Wimbachklamm stop. You will cross over the bridge then take a right and walk up the hill towards the pastures with the sheep and sheep dogs. Their are yellow trail signs but they are easy... More
