This was an incredible experience. Our visit to this gorge was one of the most memorable excursions during our trip to the Bavarian Alps. The amount of waterfalls is really impressive and the setting is great.

Wimbachklamm is a very beautiful gorge, worth visiting. From the parking lot you have to climb to reach the entrance to the gorge. on the way there is a machine where you have to buy a token or else you won't be able to enter the gorge. We like the water so we preferred to go back in the same... More

The region of Bavaria & Tyrol (Austria) is full of gorges (klamms), and all are beautiful, but this one is most special. What makes it special is the numerous waterfalls that fall from the gorge walls into the river. every few meters there is a little stream of water on the wall. The length of this gorge is very short... More

It takes a few hours to walk along and up to the top of this gorge. It is quite tiring but worth it as it is lovely.

Walking boots, picnic and many hours to explore this spectacular gorge - words can not describe the wonder of this place, the power of the water, the tranqulity of the surroundings - some path ways are slippy and involve holding on to a rope on narrow wak ways - but i would definately return again and again - the water... There are multiple entrances to the gorge. We entered through the entrance near the town of Marktschellenberg. The entrance was unassuming, but that changed very quickly once we came into view of the gorge and the water fall. You feel like you are in one of the Indiana Jones movies. The well constructed trail traces the narrow of the gorge... More

Paid a pittance for entry and it is well kept. The bottom part is the most dramatic. There is an additional climb to see a church but we continued right on up past the waterfall and walked down to Maria Gern. More than enough!

There is a big car park, about five minutes walk from the gorge, but this gets filled up quickly as there are lots of walks in the area. You have to buy a token two euros from a machine a few minutes walk before you enter the gorge. The Gorge itself is beautiful area and worth going to see even... More
