We were driving back home from Berchtesgaden and decided to take a short break and hike Wimbachklamm. We are glad we did! Parking was provided at the bottom of the gorge and there was quite a steep hill to climb-maybe 10 minutes-before the beginning of the hike. The wooden plank walkway was very well maintained and ran along the river.... More

You can easily reach the Wimbachklamm from the main bus/train station in Berchtesgaden by taking bus 346 bound to Ramsau/Hintersee then get off at the Wimbachklamm stop. You will cross over the bridge then take a right and walk up the hill towards the pastures with the sheep and sheep dogs. Their are yellow trail signs but they are easy... More

30 minutes walk from Ramsau Church, steep walk up to a point where tokens can be bought to enter gorge. 2 euros each or 1.50 with tourist card. 20 minutes to walk through and lovely to experience natures air conditioning, we then walked back down and got the bus to Hintersee.

This a lovely place to visit especially on a hot day when the spray from the torrent of water is really welcome. It is also very cheap so completly worth the price of admission even if it is not the longest gorge we have visited. On your way to the entrance there is also a nice shop selling lovely homemade... We had half a morning on our way to Munich when we decided to go to the gorge. It was drizzling and this made the waters flow faster. A beautiful walking path well laid out and easy for young children. You have a half hour option for those who just want to see the main part of the gorge. Watch... More

Awe inspiring walk. If you are short on time just do the first portion (½ hr) where most of the waterfalls are. Trekking in the area is super. The Haus at the bottom is a nice place to stop for a Bier. Note- make it easy on yourself, when you drive up, don't be fooled and park in the first... More

Parked in the car park and followed the signs up the steep hill to the gorge entrance. Paid €2 per person for a token to enter the gorge via a turnstile and were impressed at the beauty of it. There had been a lot of rain over the previous few days so the water was in full force. It was... More

It's was a great experience! The hiking trail is beautiful and the water falling into those rocks is stunning!! It was worthy! They also have a little store where a lady sells her products! She is very friendly even though we didn't understand any German! She helped us with buying the entrances in the machine and gave a postal to... More

Only 200m long on a proper walkway. €1.50 euro entry. Parking/bus route near by. Only takes about half an hour but is impressive if you've not been to a Gorge before!
