A charming pilgrimage church only accessible by boat or hiking trailing to the middle of the lake. Its peaceful, bucolic surroundings give moments to ponder, meditate or pray as you wish. The cliffs along the fjord are breathtaking and will fill up your camera! The restaurant a few meters from the church has a Biergarten and the food is pretty... More

Pretty church 2/3's of the way to the end of Konigsee. Very peaceful and relaxing. They have a small restaurant there, and you can walk around a bit.

This stop was that good I proposed to my girlfriend here. The views are absolutely spectacular, the church alone makes you want to get off the boat. We didn't spend a lot of time here, loads more to do like the ice caves etc...

If you are taking a boat ride on the Konigssee, St. Bartholoma is a necessary part of your itinerary. Well, let me take that back - you can of course buy a ticket to Salet and decide NOT to get off at St. Bartholoma. However, I wonder if anyone will actually not get off - after all the boat will... Don't miss the church at St. Bartholomae if you take a boat trip there. It's wonderful from the outside and even more from the inside

It is not bad for a remotely located church. The outside looks unique. But the inside is not St. Peter's basilica. But a trip to lake Konigssee should include a stop at this church.

The Kirche is very plain on the inside, but purposefully so, as St Bart is the patron saint of alpine farmers. The outside add loads to the village here. Along with the looming limestone cliffs and crystal clear lake it is as idyllic as it gets.

My wife and I last visited St Bartholomew's island in 1988, so it was a treat to return in 2013. The boat trip to get out there is all part of the occasion, but the island itself and the tiny church are simply beautiful. Try the smoked fish from the nearby bar - yum.

There is a beautiful bier garten around. A trip to Obersee is recommended. Just check the latest vessel departure time back to Schoenau, so that you are not left behind

The church is beautiful on the outside, the interior is small and simple, nothing impressive, worth to visit it on the way to Salet/Obersee lake or a stop on the way back for lunch. The scenery that surrounds the church it is splendid!
