The church is quite empty and inside it is not that much merveilleuse. Worthing to go to the island to have a relaxing afternoon in peace.

This particular church is not very notable or interesting from either historical or architectural viewpoints. It primarily looks pretty from boats on the lake. During winter months only trips to this island are offered as the other Koenigsee locations are closed for the season. Very little to see once you land on the island and most hiking trails start elsewhere.... More

Well, romantic, classical, catholic church, nothing special, but remarkable for the locals, for sure.

Things to do here will depend on the weather. We were here in a very cold and windy day, took a look around, and headed back pretty quickly. I am hoping to go back on a warm day without the wind, rain, and chilly temperature when the clouds will allow a better view, because this place is absolutely GORGEOUS, offering... More

Good place to spend part of an afternoon hiking around the park. The church is very nice; as most are in Europe. There is a beer garden and fisherman's house just out the door. This area can get crowded, so plan your boat trips accordingly!

Königssee might be beautiful to see for a short while. But spending hours in a narrow bout is not my cup of tea. Spending one hour on the island to see a small chapel with red roof is not my cup of tea either.

The first stop on the lake of slow boats. A nice church, small, certainly not the best church we saw on our German holiday, Germany has an amazing array of churches each one as spectacular as each other. Again, little or no information on site. Read up on these places before you travel and even print out the info to... More

Having taken a ride in a boat across the lake it is worth getting off and taking time to wander around.

The church has a history, and as so it is also a landmark. However it is the surrounding views that will leave you speechless and in total awe. Go in the Summer time!
