Stuttgart has a very eclectic mix of architecture but nothing is as awe inspiring as the palace square. Great place to waste a day just admiring the architecture or sheer scale. There is normally some decent street performers to keep you entertained as well!

This square is a wonderful place to meet up with friends, have a picnic while shopping or hang out during one of the many special events. Special events include outdoor film festivals, Fasching celebrations, Christmas markets and wine festival. There is even a starbucks on the opposite side if you are a caffeine addict and want to enjoy the sunshine!

The outdoor markets are fun on the weekends. Lots of benches to unwind and people-watch. Lots of places to shop nearby.

This square is absolutely gorgeous. It is considered to be very central in the city (thus, anyone can direct you there, in case you are lost). The center of the square features a lovely mid 19th century column (the Jubiläumssäule) and two lovely fountains. The new palace (Neues Schloss) can be easily seen from this square and provides a wonderful... More

This is the main spot in Stuttgart for everything. It is along the pedestrian street so it is a can't miss. The photo spot is in the Pavilion looking towards the New Palace. Parts of the Christmas Market is also in the plaza which only adds to the experience.

If anything is going on in Stuttgart this is where it is happening. But, even if you just want to hang out and people watch it is also enjoyable. Shopping, bars, restaurants, museums, parks - it is all within walking distance. Truly this is the heartbeat of the city and a beautiful setting, and so close to the park and... More

This whole area is really neat. The architecture is incredible. We got there in time for an 8:00 dinner reservation, so we didn't have much time to walk around after dinner, but we did get to see some of the buildings. Most places were already closed, but it was still enjoyable to walk around and people watch. There are a... More

What a beautiful setting. This is the cultural center of Stuttgart. It is also on the edge of the shopping center of Stuttgart. Grab a table at an outdoor cafe to people watch. Walk to the left side of the palace to a spectacular view of the opera house.
