Amazing food related stop in Stuttgart. Too floor is a kitchen wares store including the sexiest refrigerator I've ever seen - a rubber clad black Smeg. Yes, it was sexy! Then there was a Phillipe Stark stove. Oh if only I had $7,000 and larger carry on luggage. Basement is a good but nothing exciting florist and furniture store. But... More

Yes, the whole market is great with everything you can think of foodwise as well as souvenirs on the upper floor. But the real treat is the typical regional Schwaben food offered in the Restaurant Markthalle an annex to the Market. Reasonable prices, nice service, quiet and used by the locals probably after shopping nearby. A nice change from so... More

A great destination for any foodie. So glad we were staying in a condo for a week so we could purchase some of the wonderful foods. Chocolate was wrapped in clear cellophane so you could see exactly what you were getting. My grandsons loved being able to choose their favorites. Also many choices of olives, pates, cheese, breads, sausage, etc........ More

The Markthalle in Stuttgart is well worth a visit! The surroundings are traditional, German bourgeois...now housing fresh gourmet food from different countries and cultures. There is a bustling life and good atmosphere. Service is very good. The different foods are exhibited in an aesthetic way.

Large indoor market packed with food stalls. Naturally lots of sausages, bread and cheese, but also a lot of wider European delicatessen like olives, vegetables, oils and wine. If you are passing, make the effort to walk through, there are exits on all sides. Round the corner from the main square at the town hall (exit opposite the Rathaus, next... More

As an Englishman this was a real eyeopener. It is what you might call an indoor market but it is way beyond anything I have ever seen in the UK. The stalls are laden with fresh fruit and veg, hundreds of different cheeses, thousands of different spices and many kinds of Bread and that is just the start. I recommend... More

The markthalle is the place to go for food friends and passionate cooks. All kinds of fruits, vegetables, bread, sausages and very exotic food ingredients are presented in a very colorful way. And rhe smell is very spicy.

This may as well be the most obvious touristic place in an otherwise normal German Stuttgart. It's a covered market hall selling mainly food from different cultures all over the world on the ground floor and showcasing overpriced trinkets of different cultures on the upper floor. It's a cool atmosphere for a market.. it's like this German vision of how... More

lots of stalls with various food items. We bought a few things to eat while walking around and a few more things to bring home. Found aged balsamic that was very nice and at a reasonable price. I'd spend a lot of time in this place if I lived near Stuttgart.
