We try to go to the ZKM every time we are in or near Karlsruhe. The place is enormous and usually hosts multiple exhibits, events, and subjects. I do not recall a single time that we didn't find something thought provoking in one of the cavernous halls or floors. Our most recent visit was especially successful. They were (and probably... We went there on the last day of our trip not really knowing what to expect, but the place itself is gorgeous and the exhibitions were good, (and had English explanations), in particular the one about art in the digital age, and we ended up spending hours there.

This is a very nice place where you will see something very special. Between art and gaming, between thinking and having fun. It would be a shame to leave Karlsruhe without having visited this place.

When we visited there was a great activity going on outside as well as some impressive sculpture. We were given umbrellas and walked through simulated rainfall. The water carried a tune (Singing in the rain!) An experience we will never forget on a very sunny day. Inside the history of technology had both our boys occupied for ages. Well worth... More

From the technology interactive exhibits to the modern art, the contents of the museum are fascinating but the same are not too varied so we only spent two hours in total at this location!

Used to be an absolutely stunning world-class centre but after a long closure to renew fire sprinklers, it's first offering promised quite a bit but only had two installations on offer. Check the website carefully to see if it's worth the bother on the day you plan to visit. I put aside two full days and was finished in less... More

Unfortunately parts of the museum was closed as we visited it in late January 2015. We still found the museum truly faccinating, although we did not "get" everything. Great combination of new art, media and beautiful paintings from late 1800.

We visited the Museum at the start of May. In the first floor they had a temporary exhibition titled HIGH PERFORMANCE based in the Julia Stoschek Collection. There were also other exhibitions in the 2nd and 3rd floor, but the one in the first floor was the one we wanted to see. The place is really well organized, tranquil, good... More
