This provided a lovely walk across the river and great views of the older part of the city with the castle and many of the churches.

when you are in Heidelberg you have to go onto the Old Bridge as it is a MUST ... it is the best place to have the obligatory photo taken of yourself and your friends with the castle and the old city as a backdrop ...to admire this marvelous view over the old city with a lovely view down the... Leaning over the bridge on a sunny afternoon, with gorgeous views up & down river as well as to the Schloss - what's not to like? Very nice.

Walk to the middle of the bridge and look both ways to see the charm of Heidelberg. The ruins of the castle complex can be seen really well from the bridge.

Beautiful stone bridge, that transports us bak in time! It is located in the old part of the city so it fits really well with the surroundings. You can have a view to the castle from here too.

Very scenic views from the bridge, looking up to the castle was spectacular. There was an accordion player that was entertaining.

This old bridge is very historical. They have the monkey at the beginning and the city door to Heidelberg. You have also a very good view to the castle and to the Neckar-Thaal.

This bridge is pretty but what is even nicer is the view it gives on the river, the castle, the old city and the mountains. I recommend going for a walk on it during the day, at sunset and at night!

We loved all of Heidelberg, from the bridges to the castle on the hill. This city has kept its charm. Everywhere you look is a reminder that you are indeed in Germany. We spent hours walking down the streets, shopping, dining, and taking pictures. Spent time watching the rowers on the river for a while as well. Don't forget to... More
