One of the best in Germany

A very nice and romantic city. The bridge (Alte Brücke) and the castle must definitely be seen. There are also nice cafees and restaurants around.

It's a pretty bridge, where you should have a walk. If you walk uphill to Philosophenweg, you can see the city silhouette with the bridge. It's pretty.

Alte Brucke is a must visit at Heidelburg. The bridge on river Neckar is a great tourist spot which provides view of the Castle. A monkey statue and a rat idol are fun factor at the bridge. Tourist like to use mask of monkey statue for memorable clicks. The bridge can be considered as gate to the old city.

Okay it's just a bridge, and it's been heavily restored. But it's emblematic of Heidelberg and its student population so you should go there and take a selfie with the bronze monkey. Take care with traffic - cars and white vans use the bridge at certain hours.

Since you are already in Heidelberg then you should also pass by the bridge. You can see people from all over the world crossing the bridge and also musicians and artists. It is interesting and the view of the castle from there is also nice (maybe the best part) for pictures! well thats about it!

If you visit the schloss you must take a stroll and cross this beautiful bridge. You get a sense of times gone by together with many other strollers from all corners of our world.

The old bridge is one of those historic monuments you do not want to miss. Not only is it gorgeous in it's own right - it is also a monument to some of the towns worst floods (passing through the gates with the old town in your back, look down over the left rail to see the markings). There also... More

Walk mid way unto the bridge for a wonderful picture of the Heidelberg Castle high on the mountain. For the best shot of the bridge gate and tower walk down the street about 100 feet and you can frame your shot through the structures on both sides of the street. Lots to see at this location but make sure you... More

It's old, it's cool and we had a hotel that looked out on it. It brings you to the philosophers way too. It's a fine construction.

This bridge has a real cool gate at one end, and the bridge can be accessed from the Old Town. You can also walk along river and get good views of the bridge. The best view of the gate is from the Old Town.
